Celebrating the ATHENA Leadership Award
On October 29th, 2019, the Triangle East Chamber of Commerce held the 2019 ATHENA International Leadership Award banquet. The ATHENA Award honors women who exemplify excellence in their profession, give back to their communities, and encourage others in leadership. Fifteen dynamic women from all over the Triangle East region were nominated for this prestigious award. Kay Johnson, Executive Director of Harbor Shelter in Smithfield, NC, was named as this year's winner. Please visit our  Facebook page  to learn more about how each of our nominees have impacted their communities. Watch the video below to see the presentation of this year's ATHENA award to Kay Johnson.
Get to Know Christa Phillips
We are so pleased to share that the Chamber's staff is growing! We would like to introduce Christa Phillips, our new Administrative Assistant. Born and raised in Johnston County, Christa comes to the Chamber from a background in paralegal work. Christa enjoys greeting and meeting new faces each day. She loves the feeling of unity among the towns’ businesses that the Chamber inspire. Outside of work, her time is spent with her husband and son. We are so thrilled to have her on our team!
