George Ulley's Convertible C7
We met George at last year's Corvettes at Carlisle event and installed 1/4" white rimstripes on his beautiful white C7 convertible. It was amazing how the white showed up on the chrome wheels. Everyone loved it. It stayed put perfectly and never gave George any issues. But after a year, George desired to have more white showing. He wanted it to extend over the outer edge of the wheel, plus he wanted the recessed Z06 filled with white, so he contacted us to see what could be done.
Rob concluded that the rimstripes would need to be at least 1/2" wide and installed by hand. Installation presented a slight logistical problem as George lives in Thornwood, NY and Tapeworks is in Fuquay Varina (south of Raleigh), North Carolina. As luck would have it, George was going to be doing a road trip in the car and visiting friends in North Raleigh. Rob agreed to rendezvous and do the install. George to the rescue!
Here is the chrome wheel before installation.
The 1/2" stripes were installed using eyeball visual alignment of the inside edge near the spokes, allowing the stripes to overhang over the outer edge of the rim.
A felt covered squeegee was then used to wrap the tape over the outer edge and make sure it adhered to the rim.
We cut a set of white Z06 decals and installed them in the recess. Tricky.
We also cut and installed 5/8" wide x 80" long stripes on the side skirts and trimmed the lower edge, resulting in a tapered stripe. The resulting rimstripes, Z06 decals, and tapering side skirt stripes all make for tasteful accents and really make the car stand out.

Cygnus X-2, Ryan's RUSH Tribute band, is playing in Pittsboro and Raleigh this weekend. Ryan says they will be doing 3 sets and have almost 2-1/2 hours of RUSH tunes in their repertoire.
