Applications Open for 2018 Florida College Preparatory Invitational 
 
Mark Your Calendar with Dates to Remember for January Event

MIAMI, Florida - April 1, 2017 - The College Preparatory Invitational (CPI) opened the application process and shared key dates to remember for students wishing to apply for CPI Florida, which takes place January 12 - 14, 2018 in Palm Beach, Florida.  The CPI is a program that allows young equestrians to explore the college equestrian experience through a comprehensive education, competition and scholarship / community service program. Riders currently enrolled in grades 8 through 12 are encouraged to apply for the opportunity to participate by completing the CPI Online Application.  
 
During the CPI event, riders experience the college equestrian competition format and win scholarships in hunt seat equitation competition; they can explore an equestrian-focused college fair, attend educational presentations and take advantage of the opportunity for direct conversations with college admissions representatives and equestrian team coaches. 

Important dates for student riders considering participation in the CPI are as follows:
  • Applications Open: April 1, 2017 (The $30.00 Application Fee will be applied to the Entry Fee for all applications received before midnight on August 31, 2017)
  • Application Late (Fee Assessed): December 1, 2017
Important dates for Scholarships available through the CPI Scholarship & Educational Fund
  •             CPI Florida Essay Due: December 1, 2017
  •             CPI Horsemanship Test Deadline: December 1, 2017
  •             CPI Florida Service Award: December 1, 2017
  •             CPI Florida Photo Contest: February 16, 2018
The cost to attend the CPI is $530.00, which includes horse show entries, access to the college fair and event speakers, and sponsor-hosted social events throughout the weekend. There is a $30 application fee, which will be put toward attendance fee of $530 for those who apply before August 31, 2017. Riders who apply for the Walk-Trot-Canter division will be charged $430. All participants are also eligible to participate in CPI scholarship opportunities.
 
Introduced in 2017, the popular CPI Mounted Clinic will take place on Friday, January 12, 2018 and is open to a limited number of student riders.  The cost for the clinic is $325.00.  
 
Also, returning this year is the CPI Scholarship and Educational Fund - Jr. Ambassador Program "Fund My Ride" program where riders can fundraise their entry for the 2018 CPI Florida Horse Show. About the College Preparatory Invitational
The CPI is a three-day event designed to educate student riders about the different formats of college equestrian competitions and provide riders with resources to help them create their desired college equestrian experience. Riders in grades 8 through 12 have a chance to win scholarships in hunt seat equitation competition and participate in educational presentations throughout the event. In an effort to encourage academic excellence and embed social integrity as a lifelong commitment to the equestrian sport, the CPI Scholarship and Educational Fund also awards riders the opportunity to win scholarships for academics and community service.
