Meher Baba's Travels
Part 1:  INDIA

Avatar Meher Baba traveled extensively during His life of spiritual work, beginning with long walking tours in the early 1920s, then travel by train and bullock cart in India, and then beginning in 1931, going on extensive international sojourns by steamship and train. In the later 1930s and '40s. Meher Baba traveled all over India for years in a small blue bus. In the 1950s, He again traveled the world several times via airplane.  What was the scope of all this travel, and what did He accomplish by it?

This theme of Meher Baba's travels was introduced in a program at Meherabode one year ago, with a broad overview sketched by host Elaine Munson. Now Elaine will return to the theme, in the first of a series of programs reviewing Baba's travels in some detail. This week, we will delve specifically into Baba's travels in India.

Every place visited by Meher Baba was blessed by His Love. We will follow the footsteps of the Avatar and ponder the effects of those steps now flowering in the world.

The subject of study and discussion is Meher Baba's Discourses, which are available in print (e.g. at Meher Baba Books). The Discourses are also accessible online here:


Each week we will chronologically read a Discourse and discuss how it relates to our daily lives. Come join us and delve into Meher Baba's amazing Discourses like never before!
