Did you know:
  • That Crayons to Computers is a tax-exempt, charitable organization?
  • Crayons receives no support from United Way, governmental agencies or school districts?
  • Crayons exists to level the playing field in the classroom by providing students in need the tools to succeed in school?
  • Crayons has provided a Free Store for teachers for 21 years and serves preschool through 12th grade teachers across 16 counties in the Greater Cincinnati area?
  • That Crayons is funded solely by the generosity of the community? Many individuals, foundations, corporations and groups make it possible for our organization to provide free school supplies and other interesting items available to teachers in the schools we serve?
  • The work of Crayons is fueled by MANY volunteers (including some teachers!) from across the community.  Last school year nearly 17,000 hours were contributed by volunteers! (We cannot do it without them!)?
  • Crayons has adopted a strategic focus in which we will make particular efforts to reach out to the highest-need schools in our region and to concentrate on the earliest learners (pre-K through 3rd grade)?

We thank you for the work you do every day to educate the next generation!

Double Your Impact ... for the Kids

Congratulations to Karen Rowe, Norine Hatton, Andrea Revels and Karoline Krynock, the winners of Macy's 'Outfit a Teacher' gift packages. These teachers, and many others, made donations to help match a grant from the Stillson Foundation, Fifth Third Bank, Trustee, in support of our Teacher Free Store and Mobile Outreach Program.

Thanks to all that have contributed so far toward our goal of $10,000, but we still need your help!  If you value having access to free supplies from Crayons, please consider a donation of any amount. Even $5 goes a long way towards helping us provide students in need with the tools to succeed in school.

Thank you for all you do for the children in our region and thank you for your support.

Think Big With Felt
Gotham City made of felt at Phillip Sharp Middle School (2017)

Art display board
Many creative ideas for the classroom have involved felt. Some of our favorites were the costumes, backdrops and ceiling decorations that were produced by the teachers and students at Phillip Sharp Middle School (pictured above).

Other unique, large-scale uses include the following:
  • Story time carpets
  • Soundproofing
  • Wall coverings
  • Flags
  • Art display boards
  • Chromebook and iPad cases
We have many industrial-sized rolls and large sheets of felt in neutral colors and in a variety of thicknesses. Take some felt the next time you shop in our store or ask about some of our larger rolls, then send Stefanie Clayton a picture of your project. We could feature it on our website to share with other teachers.

Free Computers for Teachers

Cincinnati Computer Cooperative provides area children, adults, seniors, nonprofits, and schools with computers. A  non-profit organization, the Cincinnati Computer Cooperative takes gently used computers, refurbishes them, and supplies them to these groups at little or no cost.

Through our partnership, we are able to offer teachers the opportunity for a free computer for their classroom. Simply fill out the form below and return to Stefanie at [email protected]She will coordinate your receiving a desktop or laptop!
