Peabody Speaker Series: Creating Outdoor Spaces that Connect Children with the Natural World
By
Nancy Striniste, Founder and Principal Designer at EarlySpace, LLC
Come join us on October 3rd at 7PM in the Batten Building for engaging book talk by Nature Play founder Nancy Striniste. Nature play can awaken children’s senses, challenge their bodies, inspire their imaginations and build self-confidence. In order to grow up healthy and happy, children need abundant, unstructured time to play and explore in the natural world, but today’s children rarely have the opportunity to roam free outdoors. Bringing nature to the places where children spend their time is an answer.
Nancy will also be working with our Grade 4 Environmental Science classes to design a new natural playscape in our woods! We hope that you can join us on October 3rd! Please
RSVP here.

Middle School Attraction Books
It's that time of year again--we are selling Attractions Books to fundraise for the Peabody Middle School Music program! The goal is for each student to sell at least two Attractions Books. They can be sold to family, neighbors, teachers, or anyone else you can think of! If your student is unable to sell the two Attractions Books, that is completely fine.
We distributed Attractions Books to each student today during their Flex Block. Unsold books or $50, either via check or EZPay, are due back to the school no later than Friday, October 25th. This is the day of the school dance. Students will be expected to turn in their books/money before attending the middle school dance that evening. To keep track of who has paid, it is very important that if you are paying by check your student makes sure that their name and "Attractions Books" are written either in the memo line of the check, or on an envelope containing the check.
