The U.S.-Russia Chamber of Commerce has thrived in 9 years of its existence due to the exceptional support of its volunteers, interns and employees who we can now proudly be called the "USRCC Ambassadors".

With the Petroleum engineering background, Mr. Marsili worked in Eni and Enterprise Oil before joining Shell 16 years ago as Area Development Lead for Gannet cluster in UK North Sea. Mr. Marsili covered a number of Asset Commercial roles in UK and Italy. Mr. Marsili worked in NBD as Head of M&A in Shell Energy Europe and as Senior Business Development Manager responsible for the Iraq South Gas project.

More recently Mr. Marsili worked as the Venture Implementation Manager and Commercial Director for Basra Gas Company Joint Venture in Iraq.

Lukoil and Romgaz start exploration campaign in Black Sea

Romania-insider.com, August 21, 2018: Russian oil company Lukoil and Romanian gas producer Romgaz will drill several exploration wells in the Black Sea Trident perimeter.  Three years ago, the companies running this offshore perimeter announced an important gas discovery, estimated at some 30 billion cubic meters. If confirmed, this discovery could cover Romania's whole gas consumption for about three years. Read more...
Exxon Mobil planning $1.9 billion expansion at Baytown complex

Beaumontenterprise.com, August 22, 2018: Exxon Mobil is planning a $1.9 billion expansion at its Baytown petrochemical complex.
The expansion would add a two-unit plastics processing plant on the north side of Exxon Mobil's Baytown complex,  according to a tax abatement application. The company said the project -- which it says is still being evaluated -- would create 25 permanent jobs at a salary of $62,971.
The company expects construction to begin in mid-2021 and would be completed by 2023.
The project was first reported by the Houston Business Journal. Exxon Mobil did not immediately comment.

Russian-German Wolgodeminoil: 10 million tons recovered in southern Russia

Neftegaz.ru, August 23, 2018: The German-Russian joint venture Wolgodeminoil has reached a significant milestone: the 50:50 joint venture between the BASF subsidiary Wintershall and RITEK, a subsidiary of Russian LUKOIL, produced the 10 millionth ton of crude oil.
  Wintershall 's involvement in southern Russia dates back to 1992. At that time, the energy producer from Hesse, Germany, became one of the 1st western companies to enter into a business relationship with a  Russian partner  in the oil and gas production sector.  Read more...
Novatek plans 2nd transhipment terminal

Kallanishenergy.com, August 22, 2018: Russia's largest independent gas producer, Novatek, is planning to build a second transhipment terminal to help the company's liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects in the Arctic reduce transportation costs, Kallanish Energy reports.
CEO Leonid Mikhelson said in a meeting late Monday a new 20 million tonne per annum (Mtpa) terminal would be developed in the Ura Bay area, in northwestern Murmansk region. Novatek had previously announced the construction of the 20 Mtpa Kamchatka terminal, slated to enter operation in 2022.
"In Murmansk, we plan to build an analogous transshipment (terminal to the one in Kamchatka) also with the capacity of up to 20 million tonnes per year," Mikhelson told reporters.
"What's important for us is 365-day access, and the minimization of expenses on creating port infrastructure is also vital for Ura Bay," the CEO added.   Read more...
Russia & Japan plan to launch freight route via Trans-Siberian Railway

Rt.com, August 20, 2018: A rail cargo transport route is expected to be officially developed between Russia and Japan, according to the Japan News. It will become the "third distribution channel" for the two countries, after sea and air routes.
Cargo will be transported via the 9,289 kilometer-long (5,772 miles) Trans-Siberian Railway. The longest railway line in the world connects Moscow with the Russian Far East with a travel time of seven days. The Trans-Siberian railway was built between 1891 and 1916, and spans a record eight time zones.  Read more...
Russia's largest coal port hikes exports 7%

Montelnews.com, August 22, 2018: Russia's largest coal terminal at Vostochny, on the Sea of Japan, exported a record 14.6m tonnes in January-July, around 7% higher from the first half of 2017, port authority data showed on Wednesday.
The increase reflected growing Asia-Pacific demand for Russian material, in particular from South Korea, which accounted for 35% - or 5.1m tonnes - of the total.
Coal was also shipped to Japan, Taiwan, China, India and Pakistan, among others. 
Improved port infrastructure also helped to facilitate the rise, with more than 29,000 rail wagons unloaded in July, up by 11% on the year.
Meanwhile, shipments from Russia's largest European export terminal at Ust-Luga, near St Petersburg, totalled 12.3m tonnes, of which 1.4m tonnes was shipped in July.  Read more...
Russia's Rosatom starts heat treatment course for Indian engineers

Business-standard.com, August 23, 2018: Russia's state-run atomic energy corporation Rosatom on Thursday announced that it has started an advanced training course in Ranchi on heat treatment for Indian engineers in collaboration with India's public sector undertaking Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC).
Rosatom, who are the equipment suppliers and technical consultants for the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project in Tamil Nadu, said in a statement that the training programme, which started on Wednesday, is being undertaken by CNIITMASH, a subsidiary of Atomenergomash, which is the machine building division of Rosatom.  Read more...
Investments in Russian aquaculture on the rise

Seafoodsource.com, August 24 2018: Russia is experiencing a boom in aquaculture and is seeking to increase its farmed seafood almost threefold, to 700,000 metric tons (MT) through 2030. Investment activity in the sector during the last three years suggests the projected figure can be exceeded provided some cornerstone problems be solved and international experience be used.

Systemic efforts taken by the government coupled with growing demand on domestic market due to the import food embargo have encouraged massive investments into Russian aquaculture, with a few large-scale projects launched

Russia's Yakutia Airlines to lease 10 Boeing 737MAX-7s

Rusaviainsider.com, August  23, 2018: Russia's Yakutia Airlines has revealed plans to upgrade its fleet with the latest generation Boeing 737MAXs. The airline is considering the 172-seat B737MAX-7 model, which offers the least capacity of the re-engined family in exchange for the longest range.
A Yakutia spokesperson has told Russian Aviation Insider's sister publication ATO.ru that the plan is to arrange for the operational lease of 10 such aircraft between 2020 and 2021 - within the framework of an investment project launched jointly with the government of Sakha Republic, the owner of the airline. The project requires a US$60 million investment fund, hence the existing stakeholders are willing to put up to 49 per cent of their shares for sale to a potential investor.  Read more...
Nanoscale polymer antibodies efficiently target and eliminate cancer cells

Nanowerk.com, August 23, 2018: A joint research team from Russia and the U.K. has demonstrated the possibility of developing a new type of anti-neoplastic drugs based on nanoMIPs, or "plastic antibodies." NanoMIPs are synthetic polymers that can function as antibodies, selectively binding to target proteins on the surface of cancer cells.
This approach could lead to a paradigm shift in the development of new methods for cancer treatment. The research was carried out by an international team from the University of Leicester, University College London, the Institute of Cytology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.   Read more...

The Tyumen region is the second in Russia by the growth of industrial production for the last 10 years

Admtyumen.ru, August 21, 2018: The Tyumen region was ranked second in the rating of federal subjects of Russia by the index of industrial production accumulated in the last 10 years, giving way only to the Astrakhan region. The rating was compiled by Rosstat. The total index of industrial production of the region for 2008-2017 was 282.2% with the Astrakhan region having 294.9%. On average, this index is 110.6% in Russia. The Kaluga region was ranked third with is result of 278.5%. Read more...

Azerbaijan, Russia Eye Creating Joint Ventures In Three Sectors

Eurasiareview.com, August 22, 2018: Azerbaijani and Russian companies may soon create joint ventures in the fields of industry, pharmaceutics and construction, Executive Director of the Russia-Azerbaijan Business Council Yuri Danilov said in an interview with Trend. Danilov stressed that there are already projects (on establishment of joint ventures), which are at a high stage of readiness, approved by both the Azerbaijani and Russian sides. Russia and Azerbaijan to sign big package of documents 

Azernews.az, August 20, 2018:  Russia and Azerbaijan are planning to sign a big package of documents in the near future, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov said at a press conference Aug. 20.
He noted that the package will include documents on cooperation in the economic and humanitarian spheres.  "This package of documents will set a fundamental approach to economic cooperation. We primarily aim to increase our trade turnover; in 2017, it amounted to about $2.6 billion. We hope for its further growth," the diplomat said. Read more...

Россия стала нетто-экспортёром баранины

Россий Экспортный Центр (РЭЦ) и Srei объединяют усилия в продвижении отечественного экспорта в Индию

Exportcenter.ru, 21 августа, 2018: 20 августа в офисе РЭЦ состоялись переговоры с делегацией финансового холдинга Srei (Индия). Индийскую делегацию возглавил председатель Совета директоров и Управляющий директор Хемант Канурия. Со стороны РЭЦ совместно с Генеральным директором РЭЦ Андреем Слепневым во встрече приняли участие Управляющий директор по клиентской работе Никита Гусаков, сотрудники клиентского блока и блока международного развития.
