From the Garden to the Table
Last summer I had a client who loved to garden but had some health issues arise that limited her mobility. I had suggested raised beds but she wanted more of a farm look to her garden. Naturally my thoughts went to Straw Bale Gardening.
I had seen it in books and magazines and thought I'd give it a try.
Although late in the season, if it went well, I would feel confident in suggesting it to my client. I star ted my experiment with straw bale gardening in September! I found this to be an easy and fun alternative to in-ground gardening. She would not have to worry about weeding or bend to reach the ground. It would give her that 'farm' look and the ability to harvest delicious vegetables from her garden with ease.

As cute as they can be... except when they eat your glorious garden!
Now is the time, before you even plant your garden, to apply repellent.
As you may know, applying only one repellent to your garden is not enough. Wild critters get used to the taste and smell of one and will soon, not be bothered by it and continue to eat.
We recommend rotating between three repellents to keep them away. The best time to start applying repellents is now, while the critters are finding the best places to eat. If you know where your garden is going, start your repellents now so they learn that this is NOT where they should go for dinner!

Repels-All is just one of several repellents you will find in the Garden Center.
Lots of things to do outdoors in April!
