Week 1: September 1-8
Pray for health workers and all responding to the recent Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Pray for the efforts of IMA World Health and others working in the area to provide support to health workers. More

Pray for faith and community leaders in the DRC who are well positioned to correct misperceptions and share accurate information about the Ebola virus. Pray they are heard and recognized by their communities and engaged in the effort to stop the outbreak. Article from Reuters
Week 2: September 9-16
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Alma-Ata Declaration pray for the advancement of primary health care and the involvement of communities in health as key to attaining the goal of Health for All. About Event September 12  

Pray for the work of the CCIH working groups focusing on the four core areas of CCIH member work: Integration of Faith and Health; Health Systems Strengthening; Community-based Prevention and Care; and Health of Women and Children.  About the Groups
Week 3: September 17-23
Pray for an end to the conflict in Yemen . Pray for the families who have lost children and loved ones in this extended battle. Prayers of thanks to those lifting up the issue and raising awareness. See opinion piece by CCIH member Dick Stellway

Pray for organizations who help victims of war. Prayers of thanks for the work of Samaritan’s Purse to operate an emergency field hospital in Mosul, Iraq to treat the wounded. See Megan Vitek's presentation about the hospital and partnerships
Week 4: September 24-30
World Contraception Day is September 26. Pray for FBO work to help families with healthy timing and spacing of pregnancies. Prayers of thanks for partnerships between FBOs and USAID to advance family planning to improve maternal and community health. Video from Achieving Common Ground presentation at CCIH 2018.

Stigma against people suffering from mental illnesses is a global problem. Pray for the efforts of the Christian Health Association of Ghana to integrate mental health services into the continuum of care, resulting in greater awareness and demand for treatment.  See presentation from Dr. James Duah
