Dear Siblings in Christ:

I am pleased to announce that we have hired Pastor Judi Miller to be our receptionist, effective October 1, 2018. Pastor Judi will support us Monday through Friday, from 8:30-noon.   In addition to greeting in person visitors and answering the phones in the mornings, she will be handling a variety of administrative items in support of our synod work together.

Pastor Judi has recently been serving as the Transitional Pastor for St. John's San Antonio, alongside the position of Director of Congregational Care, which she began in December 2014. Pastor Judi served St. Paul in New Braunfels for ten years before moving to Southern California and serving St. Paul, Fullerton for twelve years. She was pleased to return to New Braunfels four years ago to be closer to family and friends. She is now "retired" and a member of Peace in New Braunfels. Pastor Judi says, "I am excited to be serving the church in this different capacity. I look forward to working alongside our new bishop and the faithful and talented team in the office." Please join me in welcoming her to our synod staff.

We also give thanks for the five years that our current receptionist, Rhonda Westerfield, who has served us faithfully three mornings a week. She will be leaving us effective August 30, 2018. She is looking forward to being more involved in the lives of her grandchildren.

We would appreciate your prayers and patience during the month of September, when we will not have a receptionist, and continuing as we figure out the best ways to work together in service to the synod. Thank you for your partnership in the gospel.

+Peace,

Bishop-elect Sue Briner
