Webinar - Urban Resilience in an Era of Climate Change

In a world threatened by climate change and other large-scale disruptions, cities must be resilient to survive and thrive. But what does that mean, exactly? What characteristics do resilient cities share, and what can be done to cultivate them?

This week the Security and Sustainability Forum, in partnership with Abt Associates and Island Press hosted a webinar focusing on the meaning of resilient cities, and what this lens of thinking means for the practical day-to-day management of cities.

The webinar was recorded and can be viewed here. Presentations from the webinar can be downloaded here

World Bank-Coursera Class: Financing for Development

2015 is a critical year for development. Leaders from around the world adopted a global 2030 development agenda in September that  will require trillions of dollars to accomplish over the next 15 years. This magnitude of financing will surpass the current capacities of governments and international donors, and will require investments of all kinds:  public and private, national and international.

Please join the World Bank for an 4-week online course hosted by Coursera that will familiarize participants with public and private solutions to financing the new global development agenda. The class will be spit into two sections, one for those seeking general awareness of the subject and one for development specialists wanting a more in-depth discussion.
