Stallions in the Spotlight

We welcomed back Travis Jackson '10
to present at our annual Senior Spirit Day.  Travis finished up his football career and received his bachelor's degree from Michigan State, and returned to Columbus to work as an Account Executive with the IT Consulting Company Brooksource. Aligning with the theme for the school year, "Let Your Light Shine" Travis spoke to the students about how they can shine bright in their senior year. He reminded them that above all else, your attitude and how you treat others is what your legacy will be, and hopes they will take this message to heart for the 2018-2019 school year and beyond.

Kyra Hess '12 recently graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with her Master of Science in Dance/Movement Therapy. After spending two years in New York City studying and interning with individuals with mental health disorders and blindness, she relocated to the Boston area in June. Most recently, Kyra secured a job working as a mental health clinician in an outpatient day treatment facility. Through the use of dance, music, and visual art, Kyra works to promote navigating each day with balance, joy, laughter, and a mindful awareness between the mind and the body.

Dee Thompson '90 runs a women-led and owned luxury home building firm in Chicago.  They focus on luxury single family and multi-unit homes in the downtown Chicago area with annual sales in excess of $6m/yr.  Prior to launching her development firm, she spent 20+ years in corporate America as an executive project manager which included the management of complex IT engagements for some of the countries largest for and non profit organizations.  She leveraged her IT project management expertise to translate into construction project management.  Dee is also a licensed real estate broker with Berkshire Hathaway.

Last Saturday, SFD alumnus Trevor Howard '12 captured a National Championship on Rings at the US Gymnastics Championships. Congrats Trevor!

It was wonderful to have State Representative Rick Carfagna '95, along with Representative Andrew Brenner, join us at the Boys Lacrosse State Championship Celebration Ceremony last week, to congratulate the team and provide commendations from the Ohio House honoring their achievement.
