Volunteer Days at Elephant Refuge North America

Calling all volunteers -- your help is needed!

Elephant Aid International has scheduled our first three Volunteer Days at Elephant Refuge North America (ERNA)! Your participation will bring us closer to our goal of giving needy elephants the retirement they deserve.

Each Volunteer Day will be limited to 20 volunteers and we expect them to fill up fast, so be sure to sign up early!

Even if you can't join us for Volunteer Days, you can still be a part of the ERNA team by providing an item from our Wish List.

There are many ways to give and all of them make a difference!

Seeking Development Consultant

EAI is seeking an experienced development consultant to manage ERNA's fundraising and outreach. You can learn more and apply here.

Good Fences Make Good Neighbors

ERNA's Perimeter Fence
EAI is constructing a double fence system to provide privacy and security for Elephant Refuge North America's elephants.

We are close to completing the outer perimeter fence. It consists of 30,000 feet of eight-foot high fencing and encloses 850 acres of elephant paradise.

The internal second layer of fencing is our next project. It will consist of 30,000 feet of elephant-proof fencing, constructed of eight-foot high, eight-inch posts with three horizontal strands of ½-inch galvanized cable. It will take about three months to complete.

The elephant fence will cost $412,000. We are currently fundraising for the project and plan to begin as soon as the funds are raised. Please donate (and be sure to designate your donation for Elephant Refuge North America) and help us reach our goal! The sooner we build the fence, the sooner the elephants will come!

In The News

Georgia Public Broadcasting's Georgia Outdoors visited ERNA earlier this
month to gather footage for an upcoming episode. The program will follow our progress and will profile each elephant who makes ERNA her home. Be sure to stay tuned!

Also this month, Voices for the Animals, a half-hour program on KBOO radio in Portland, OR, spoke with Carol Buckley about her work and future plans. You can listen to the program here.
