Passover, Easter, Earth Day, May Day, honey bee swarm season, World Bee Day in May, preparation for National Pollinator Week in June! What's NOT happening in spring?

Are you checking your milkweed for monarch eggs? Michelle Clark-Trevino, director of the Main Street program for Beeville, Texas, and chair of Beeville's Bee City USA committee, said recently, "It's working! We planted milkweed on Main Street and now shop owners are calling to rave about having their first experience watching monarchs go through their life cycle!."
Bee City USA: Getting Renewed Every Year
Hillsborough, NC, hosted an Earth Day table with a children's game asking which common groundskeeping practices harm bees and other pollinators.
Bee City USA & Bee Campus USA Annual Renewal Reports Are Treasure Troves

Here's what Raleigh, North Carolina, shared in their report on 2018, " In this reporting period, the City of Raleigh and its partners have converted over 339 acres of lawn to habitat, planted 8 acres of pollinator plants, removed 13 acres of invasive plants without herbicides, and left 158 acres natural for pollination and foraging ."

Americans receive information at hyperspeeds these days. Were it not for annual renewal reports, the pollinator conservation work Bee City USA and Bee Campus USA affiliates are doing might be forgotten. We so appreciate the effort it takes for affiliates to share that information with us each year. Their value is endless. As national program managers, we learn how affiliates are engaging their communities in conserving pollinators, and often discover great ideas that other affiliates could replicate.

Did we get your attention yet? If so, read some Bee City and Bee Campus annual reports whenever you need a lift, and If you discover something you would like to have a webinar presentation on, please let us know. There are probably other people who would be just as interested as you to hear more about these stories.
Want To Show A Movie for National Pollinator Week?

Here are three movies that are sure to entertain, educate and motivate!

Xerces Events Coming To Your Area
They're so ubiquitous, we often forget how stunning common tiger swallowtails are. Did you know that some females may also be black in the pipevine swallowtail butterfly's range? Presumably the black form is to mimic pipevine swallowtails because they are distasteful to would-be predators. Photo: Bobbi Leoni
Xerces has at least one pollinator conservation presentation or workshop somewhere in the country nearly every week. Check Xerces' Events page for details and to s ign up for Xerces's E-News.

Check the current Bee City and Bee Campus pages to see the most up-to-date lists of our 149 affiliates in 37 states. While you're there, check out our new maps that show which ecoregion each affiliate calls home.
