Scientists tell us the universe is a vast space - more than a billion light years across and continuing to expand.

They say it's more than 13.8 billion years old and contains billions of galaxies.

They also say that about 65 million years ago, plus or minus a few hundred thousand years, a massive asteroid hit earth killing off more than 70% of the life forms and taking millions of years for our planet to recover.

<whew>

They also tell us that all the basic requirements for life generation is found in the cosmic dust that blankets the universe, leading me to think that the probability exists that there are numerous planets in the universe that didn't have the major setback our earth did.

So what's the deal?

I would suspect that other more advanced life forms have been monitoring earth for years and have no plans of visiting until we stop killing one another.

Me thinks we've been quarantined until we get our act together.

So what does this have to do with our Co-Op's mission to grow companies, advance careers and move new ideas forward?

Easy answer - we're making things better one person at the time and have the track record to prove it.

Come have breakfast with us any Wednesday and we'll see if what we're doing will move you in the direction you want to go to make the world a better place.

Breakfast not possible because of time or location constraints?

His father Pepin the Short now dead, 26-year-old Charlemagne is elevated to King of the Franks. Charlemagne will only expand his power from here, founding the mighty Carolingian Empire, becoming the first Holy Roman emperor, and fusing Western Europe in a way not seen since the ancient Romans.

Son of Erik the Red, young Leif Erikson has exploration in his blood, and according to tradition he and his crew are now the first Europeans to set foot on North American soil, landing at what they will dub 'Vinland.' Scholars later peg the place as L'Anse aux Meadows in Newfoundland, Canada.

Some gamblers are the only real winners as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Chicago White Sox in a baseball World Series marred by painfully bad plays coming from the soon-to-be nicknamed 'Eight Men Out,' Sox players who colluded with bookies to throw the games so their rivals would win.

On what would've been John Lennon's 45th birthday, his widow Yoko Ono dedicates an area of New York City's Central Park to the memory of her slain husband. ' Strawberry Fields,' named for one of Lennon's songs, opens almost five years after the beloved musician's death shocked the world.

Since 1983!
A not-for-profit cooperative association of independent businesses, founded from an economic development research project on the
importance of small business development conducted by the
Houston Chamber of Commerce in the late 1970's.

With our first Co-Op meeting held March 14, 1983, to date we've worked with 65,587
people, generating 44,384 tips, leads, referrals and items of new business, generating revenues exceeding one billion dollars, founded the Entrepreneurial Development Center - Houston's first and Texas' oldest small business incubator and co-working space, First Houston Small Business Seed Capital Fund - literally the first small business seed capital fund in Houston, the Womens Business Center - first business incubator for women business owners in the country with residency space and the Virtual Business Center - the first remote business incubator in the world - all totally without public funding, grants, gifts, donations or contributions.

Co-Op companies have won virtually every award for business growth in Houston, some nationally and some even internationally.

Our Entrepreneurial Research Division conclusively demonstrated "entrepreneurship" could be taught in a classroom environment, resulting in colleges and universities, globally,
commencing entrepreneurial courses.
