JULY 8-14, 2019

"Nazarene Youth Conference (NYC) is a vibrant, life-changing youth event held every four years in different locations across the United States and Canada. High School students from all around North America belonging to the Church of the Nazarene gather together in a time of worship, teaching, and community outreach, united by a common belief in Jesus Christ."

"Love God. Love Others. Simple, but challenging. Sometimes described as two pillars of following Jesus, we will explore the connective nature of our relationship with God and others while learning what it means to live out His love in our world."

Below is the NYC 2019 Goole Folder. Please click for all details.

Sunday School Discipleship International

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."   Matthew 28:19-20

As you are going,
THINK BIG: Every relationship, every interaction, all inclusive.

And make disciples,
START SMALL: You. Be one. Be a Christ-like disciple. Re-present Jesus.

Baptizing them, immersing them in Jesus,
GO DEEP: Pray. Empty yourself. Sacrifice.

The Extra Mile
The Extra Mile has been busy this year!

We have been building a relationship with the South Side Office of Concern in Downtown Peoria and we have had the privilege of volunteering at the Veterans Haven Home for Homeless Veterans ran by the S.S.O.C.

The Veterans Haven is a transitional home that can house up to 15 veterans at a time. The Vets can live at that the Haven, while the South Side Office of Concern works with other organizations such as the Veterans Administration to get care and funding for them and ultimately get them into permanent housing. The program, is in its fifth year, and has a 94 % success rate of veterans not returning to homelessness.

On the Extra Mile's first visit in May, we spent a day on yard beautification such as, weeding, raking, picking up trash and providing a new The Extra Mile donated an outdoor table, chairs and umbrella to give the guys a comfortable place to relax. We also replaced a worn out American flag on the front of the residence.

On July 12th the Extra Mile and a team from Caterpillar, joined forces and provided another day of service to the veteran's home. A portion of the group continued the on-going yard beautification, scrapping, preparing and weatherproofing the deck and wheelchair ramp, while the remainder of the team worked in the house preparing and painting the main hallway of the home.

The Extra Mile also provided lunch for the team and the residents, giving everyone time for a meal and fellowship.

It is 3 full days, and teaches how to:

  • Use Biblical principles for church planting in everything you do.

NWIL District Prayer Force

Every Person Prayed for and Discipled!

Wouldn't it be awesome if every person living in Northwestern Illinois was being prayed for by name? We have a strategy to do just that! We envision that every man, woman, teen, and child in every one of the 30 counties across the District are being continually prayed for by name specifically for their eternal salvation and faithful discipleship.

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." Therefore, every person deserves
to be prayed for by name.
