International Restoration Institute Partnership
ACHP is proud to announce a new partnership with the International Restoration Institute. IRI
is dedicated to educating, training and assisting contractors and handyman professional on helping victims of storms, fires, mold and floods. IRI's Restoration and Remediation Certification Courses have been used in the restoration industry for over 10 years. The Restoration courses offered are all online and there are free student advisement offerings at no charge. Check out the courses at

Insurance Updates
Lockton has added an easy "pay my bill" link for easy insurance policy renewals. "Participants of our insurance program will still receive their yearly invoices however, we made it easier for members to renew their insurance policy invoices online" says Asst VP, Joe Perkins of Lockton.

How to Be a More Productive Handyman
For handyman professionals, efficiency is key to success. Smartly estimating the cost and time that goes into a project determines how lucrative it will be - and when you can move on to the next one. Take a look at three easy ways to improve your productivity and ultimately, your bottom line.
Eliminate unnecessary tasks.
Take a look at your job requirements. Consider each task and what it entails. If any of the tasks no longer impact sales, quality, productivity or safety, it is probably time to say goodbye to the task. Through elimination of unnecessary tasks, you can free up time to
better focus on other things.
Change how you think.
Recognize that your thoughts and beliefs will always outweigh your behavior and should come first. If you do things just so you can be done with the task, but not because you want to do them, your actions will fall short.
Work hard to change how you think and you will authentically want to do many things that extend above and beyond your work responsibilities and as a result, you will become a better handyman professional.
Take a lunch break.
Your noon break is essential to help you improve as an employee. Step away from your work for an hour. Many studies show that fresh air, walking, and socializing with friends all help you come back to the job ready to work and more refreshed than if you'd skipped the mealtime away from your desk.
Give (and take) feedback with grace.
Embrace the comments that aren't what you hoped for as opportunities to grow and learn. What you take with you from one handyman job to the next will impact how well you perform the next time.
Achievement is based on effort and also on focus. Focus on how to keep your mind on tasks and strip away the additional stuff. This will give you the chance to do a better job and give you more time to devote to the biggest upcoming project.

Are your Customers Able to Find You?
|
Our search requests continue to increase significantly. The new search engine installed in August was indeed what the doctor ordered. This means more and more folks are browsing our directory listings. However, many of you have not updated your listing in a while. In some cases, customers are having difficulties reaching you because of outdated information in your listing. How do we know this? Some of them are calling ACHP. Makes us wonder how many customers are reluctant to go the extra mile thus contacting someone else with a working or displayed phone number, etc.
To fix this problem:
Log in to your member account and:
- Ensure you have access, if not contact us immediately.
- Click on "My Directory Listings" then "Edit". Ensure your information is up to date.
- Enter a city, state, zip code in the display map. If not, the search engine will not be able to find you by zip code search.

Ensure your email and phone number is correct, etc. Add more unique keywords.
|
