Update family info by Sept. 16
The opportunity to make updates to portal records will close Monday, Sept. 16. Visit the My Info Update section of the parent portal to be sure your contact information and student immunization record is up to date. Also check for other required forms and documents. Review this tutorial for more information.

Latest Headlines

This year’s MCA science scores for Edina High School are the highest ever and while teachers and administrators are very pleased, they are not completely surprised. They believe the more than 20 point increase over last year’s proficiency rate is the culmination of years of work by the EHS biology teachers and a unique opportunity presented to students. 

EPS recognized staff members at an awards luncheon Aug. 22 to honor bus drivers with safety records, staff members with 25 years of service and staff achieving tenure.
School Board Update
Seven candidates file for three School Board positions
Voters in the Edina school district will elect three members to the School Board this fall as the terms of Amir Gharbi, Sarah Patzloff and Leny Wallen-Friedman expire. The seven candidates are: Linda Friede, Julie Greene, Garrett Knudson, Lou Nanne, Sarah Patzloff, Janie Shaw and Leny Wallen-Friedman. First of two Candidate Forums is Thursday, Sept. 12
The League of Women Voters-Edina will sponsor a School Board Candidate Forum on Thursday, Sept. 12, 7-9 p.m. at Edina City Hall. Candidates will answer one question they will be given in advance and will take written questions from the audience. A second Candidate Forum is slated for Oct. 8, 9:30 a.m. and is sponsored by the EPS Parent Leadership Council.
Next Board meeting: Monday, September 16
The meeting begins at 7 p.m., in ECC Room 349. A complete meeting agenda is posted three days prior to the meeting. Regular meetings of the School Board are live streamed on the district's YouTube channel. To watch, click on the YouTube icon at the bottom of every district website page, or find the link on the School Board meetings web page.

Q&A Sessions are held as requested. View more information about Q&A sessions and the form to submit questions. Questions must be submitted by 3 p.m. one week prior to each session. Sessions are held at 6:30 p.m., prior to a regular Board meeting.

Did You Know?
EHS Mock Trial seeks volunteers with courtroom experience

The Edina Mock Trial program needs volunteers to help coach our high school teams. No Mock Trial experience is necessary, but it’s helpful to have courtroom experience. Edina typically fields three teams. Mock Trial season is mid-October to early February and involves a time commitment of about 3 hours a week. If you are interested or would like more information, contact John Justice at  jjustice952@msn.com .
Minnesota Reading Corps and Math Corps seeks tutors for EPS

Six tutors at Edina schools are still needed to fill positions with the Minnesota Reading and Math Corps. Opportunities are available at Cornelia, Creek Valley, Highlands, Countryside and Valley View. Tutors can elect to serve 35, 25, or 18 hours per week and receive training and a stipend.
