Naomi Tucker is the founding Executive Director of Shalom Bayit, the first Jewish domestic violence agency in Northern California and one of the first of its kind in the U.S. Shalom Bayit is the only stand-alone faith-based domestic violence organization in the Bay Area. Naomi has worked in the domestic violence field for 35 years, and has been instrumental in developing a national Jewish communal response to abuse. She is the co-author of Faith in Violence-Free Families, an interfaith clergy training program developed in collaboration with California's Department of Public Health. Naomi is a trainer, published author, and national expert on faith-based approaches to ending gender-based violence.
Presentation
For Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Naomi will speak about what clergy should know in terms of identification, intervention, pastoral counseling, and prevention of abuse in intimate relationships.
