CAWP Launches 2020 Candidate Summary
Eagleton's Center for American Women and Politics (CAWP) launched its 2020 candidate summary, featuring a synopsis of women likely running for Senate, House, gubernatorial, and other statewide elected executive offices. The summary, which will be updated throughout the election cycle, also includes important context, such as: retiring incumbents, returning incumbents, women running as challengers, and current records for filed candidates, primary winners, and women serving. In addition to this summary, the Center is also following women who are running for president in the CAWP Presidential Watch.  
Eagleton Undergraduate Associates Learn About
Real-world Politics from Alumni and Practitioners
This fall, Eagleton Undergraduate Associates are taking the Internship Seminar course, which gives students the opportunity to reflect on their internship experiences and learn about possible career paths. Earlier this month, Undergraduate Associates had the opportunity to meet five Rutgers University alumni and learn about their legal careers.

"Eagleton Undergraduate Associates have a unique opportunity to meet in a small group setting with federal and state policymakers, activists, lawyers, lobbyists and a variety of other important players in government and politics. They gain valuable insights into the everyday dynamics at play in a variety of fields, while also advancing their own professional development skills.  Our students are ready to hit the ground running in Trenton or Washington when they graduate," said Francine Newsome Pfeiffer, who teaches the course and is the vice president for federal relations at Rutgers University.

The internship course is just one way the Eagleton Undergraduate Associates Program helps students link the study of politics with its day-to-day practice. Eagleton is currently accepting applications for the Eagleton Undergraduate Associates class of 2021. Rutgers juniors from all schools, departments, and campus locations are eligible to apply.

ECAG Releases First Video in the Next Set of Corzine Administration Interviews

ECAG Kevin Ryan Interview
The Eagleton Center on the American Governor (ECAG) released the first video in the next set of individual interviews for the Center's Governor Jon S. Corzine Archive. 

The interview is with Kevin Ryan, who served in Corzine's cabinet for over two years. First, Ryan served as the commissioner of human services and then as the first commissioner of the newly-created department of children and families. Stay up-to-date on ECAG research by following the Center on Twitter.
