Join us for our Annual Meeting, which will include a review of this year's Centennial Events, the announcement of our 2020 AIA Rochester Board, and a keynote panel discussion themed 'Shelter' including Ken Glazer, AIA NCARB, Chairman - Buckingham Properties, Shawn Dunwoody, Artist/Designer and owner of Dunwoode - a multi-award winning design based strategic art team, Kevin Kelley, AICP, Associate City Planner, City of Rochester,
and Kathryn Mariner, LMSW,
Ph.D
, U of R Wilmot Assistant Professor.
Continuing on AIA Rochester's Centennial theme of 'Shelter', the diverse panel will discuss and offer insight into design, planning construction, real estate & community issues. Attendees should expect an insightful discussion that focuses on the power of design (and designers) to change and shape our City and surrounding communities. We encourage all attendees to submit questions to the panel that may be included in the discussion! Questions may be submitted via email to

In Product Runway, twelve teams will showcase their costumes based on iconic Rochester buildings and constructed of actual building products. Designers in architecture and interior design join forces with building material vendors to create fashions based on form and facades.

LaBella Associates - The leading multi-discipline design firm announces the appointment of a new leadership team, effective January 1, 2020. Steve Metzger has been appointed Chief Executive Officer; Jeff Roloson has been appointed President; and Mike Winderl has been appointed Chief Operating Officer. Together, alongside current Chief Financial Officer Robert Pepe, the team will be responsible for stewarding the firm's next generation of steady growth and fostering LaBella's award-winning workplace culture.
As a part of this planned succession, current CEO Sergio Esteban and current President Robert Healy will take on new roles as Firm Principals. They will continue to support client relationships, business development and community relations, and will maintain their current board positions as Chairman and Treasurer, respectively.

AIA Rochester - Centennial Instagram Campaign
Our Centennial Instagram project continues daily to feature our members' projects in an effort to educate the public on what architects do. Follow us on Instagram at @aiaroc. The beautiful images from our member firms on our Instagram 365 Initiative have reached over 1.6K people on Instagram alone.
We are still collecting images. All firms are welcome and encouraged to participate in one of our public advocacy campaigns for 2019! All you need to do is email us 10 images (preferably JPG - 300dpi), include your firm name, provide a short description of each photo, and list the name of the photographer. Images of buildings: Images may include buildings, a specific image of a building element, community project, or a firm event.
