WORT (FM station 89.9), Tuesday, 7 January 2014. On-air celebrity, J.R. Sims, will serve as MC to this upbeat morning show, which endeavors to bring listeners a mix of music, culture and information.

John Matthews
| Our guests for the first show of the new year will be John Matthews, Executive Director of Madison Teachers, Inc. (MTI) and Reverend Dr. Alex Gee, Jr., President and Founder of the Nehemiah Center for Urban Leadership Development.
John Matthews has been the Executive Director of MTI since 1968, but his ties to education began in his home state of Montana. There, he worked as an underwriter for the Montana Industrial Board; a teacher; a director of the Neighborhood Youth Corps for Eastern Montana; and an instructor at Eastern Montana College. Mr. Matthews has a Bachelor's degree in history and education and a Master's degree in social science. His educational philosophy is, "You've got to have the best possible working conditions and provide the greatest respect and latitude for the teaching staff. When you do that you can hire the absolute best and brightest and let them do their job."

Dr. Alex Gee Jr.

Reverend Dr. Alex Gee, Jr., is a social entrepreneur who has worn several professional hats. He is currently the Sr. Pastor of Fountain of Life Covenant Church and the President/Founder of the Nehemiah Center for Urban Leadership Development. He has served as an Adjunct Professor, Spiritual Life Coach, Diversity Consultant, Community Activist, Columnist and Radio Co-host. For more than two decades, Dr. Gee has served as an adviser to leaders around the world from civic, medical, corporate, nonprofit and academic sectors as well as professional athletes, entertainers, governmental leaders and dignitaries.

Major General Marcia Anderson
|
In addition to the election of Officers of the Board of Directors, Keynote Speaker, Major General Marcia Anderson, the only African American woman to hold this esteemed rank within the U.S. Army, will speak on the topic of teamwork.
Major General Marcia Anderson has served since 1 October 2011 as the senior adviser to the Chief, Army Reserve on policies and programs for the USAR including force structure, Congressional budget and appropriations process, development of manpower and personnel policies, as well as Department of The Army and Department of Defense Matters. Maj. Gen. Anderson has commanded at the Company level through General Officer. She has also served in a variety of staff positions at Battalion, Brigade, and Division level to include S-1, S-3, S-4, and G-1, as well as an Assistant Division G-3. In July 2005, she assumed Command of the 6th Brigade, 95th Division (Institutional Training), where she was responsible for the 95th Division (Institutional Training) Drill Sergeant School located at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, as well as the conduct of Intermediate Level Education (ILE) and Combined Arms Exercise courses for officer professional development over an eight state area. In June 2006, General Anderson was appointed acting Assistant Division Commander-Operations for the 95th Division (Institutional Training) in Oklahoma City, Okla. In April 2007, she was confirmed for promotion to Brigadier General and in October 2007, assumed command of the 85th Support Command (Regional Support Group West), Arlington Heights, Ill., which supports the collective training efforts of First Army. General Anderson was later named Deputy Commanding General-Support of First Army West. She assumed responsibility as Deputy Commander of the U.S. Army Human Resources Command 1 October 2010, serving in that capacity until her promotion to Major General in October 2011.
