Saturday, October 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Kent Town Hall. Civil Dialogue with the Kent First Selectman Candidates hosted by the Kent Memorial Library. Join us in welcoming the two candidates to discuss their platforms and plans for Kent. The Library will solicit a series of questions from Kent residents for both candidates to answer. Questions may be dropped off at the Library or at the event. This event will be moderated by a member of the League of Women Voters of Litchfield County. Free and open to the public. Must Register.

Our Seed Library was very popular this year. And now it's time to think about replenishing for next year! In the weeks to come as you are cleaning up your summer gardens remember we are in need of seed to keep our Seed Library  
going. Many plants are now going to seed. Take time to capture the seeds,  
dry them and label for the Library seed borrowing program. If you have  
leftover seeds or seeds you never got to plant this year, drop them off to us!

2019 Car Raffle. The Kent Memorial Library has chosen a 2000 Porsche Boxster Roadster as this year's annual fund raising raffle car. This arena red with Savanna beige leather interior has very low mileage. Tickets are $20. Raffle tickets are being sold in the Library and during the annual Library Book Sale. The car will be parked in front of the Library. The winning ticket will be drawn on at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27 at the conclusion of the 43rd Annual Kent Pumpkin Run. Information is available on the Library's website. Ticket holders need not be present to win.

Annual Book Sale. Every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. & Sunday from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. Our outdoor annual book sale carries a wide range of books, including many current best sellers, mysteries, biographies, art history, to name a few; the book sale caters to all interests. (the sale is weather permitting, if in doubt, call the Library.) All proceeds benefit the Kent Memorial Library.
 
Chess. Our chess boards and tables, inside and out are open to young and old, beginners to advanced. Team combinations are encouraged - for instance, grandparent and parent-child, co-workers, friends. All are welcome to use our chess equipment.
