City Marina Dredge and Reconstruction Complete

The City Marina re-opened Sept. 25 after an extensive renovation and dredge.  Work included reconstructing and reinforcing the seawall, new pilings, floating and fixed docks, electric and water service pedestals, and walkways.  The City's fire rescue boat will be housed here, and the renovated marina will be a perfect stop for loopers and boaters to dock and spend time on the Sponge Docks and in the City.  
Thousand of Jobs Available for 2020 Census
The US Census Bureau is recruiting for 2020 Census temporary jobs, including census takers, clerical, and administrative positions.  The jobs provide competitive wages, paid training, weekly pay, and flexible hours.  Get more information and apply online here.
Celebrate Local Businesses: October Ribbon Cuttings
A new restaurant and craft brewery in Downtown, and a new mailing-printing service on US 19 are hosting grand opening ribbon cuttings this month. On Friday, Oct.4 at 6 pm, celebrate the opening 
of H'ours Creole Smokehouse, 310 E. Tarpon Ave.  This is also First Friday and a great way to start the Fall Festival weekend.  On Thursday, Oct. 10, 5:30 p.m., 
The UPS Store is  officially opening in the Publix Mall.  Finally, Unrefined Brewing is hosting a grand opening weekend with a ribbon cutting on Saturday, Oct. 19, 3 p.m., at 312 E. Tarpon Ave.  Enjoy the festivities, sample new food and craft beer, and welcome our new businesses to the City.
