We Are Winning
The Ground War
To Register Voters
In Collier County
By Annisa Karim
Collier County Democratic Party Chair
Hello Democrats!
My friends, we are making progress in little old Collier County and it’s because of folks just like you!
The Florida Democratic Party has been giving each county incentive goals for Voter Registration or Vote-by-Mail requests. We met our September goal in Collier County by the middle of the month and we continued to register voters.
We already have 60 people trained to register voters and we are scheduling events at college campuses, farmers’ markets, and we are canvassing neighborhoods. As we continue to grow our voter registration teams, we realized we needed a team leader to keep track of events and outcomes.
And now we have one. Please join me in congratulating
Phyllis Andrews
as our new Voter Registration Team Leader. Her dedication to the Democratic Party has been integral to allowing us to move forward on this endeavor.
We know that in Florida, statewide races are won or lost by razor-thin margins. Our very own Commissioner for Agriculture and Consumer Services, Nikki Fried, won her race by only 6,753 votes out of over 8 million votes cast for that office.
Sometimes it’s daunting being a Democrat in Collier County but rest assured, WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE NEXT ELECTION.
That’s why our goal is to register every eligible person in the county. We have amazing people volunteering for us and we should all be proud of their efforts.
Let's Celebrate Our Diversity
Despite the stereotype, Collier County is a beautifully diverse community. As we work to ensure everyone's voice is heard, we must talk about how to move our community toward equality.
And we can have fun while we're doing that.
You are invited to attend a special luncheon event, which is focused on exploring that diversity but also acknowledging that conventional ways of thinking about the challenges we face may not be enough to address them fully.
