This event will feature sessions on the 2019 Measles Outbreak , MMR legislation , Washington Immunization Information System (WAIIS) and working with special populations .
PREPARE FOR 19-20 FLU SEASON
Recommendations for Providers
  • Make a strong flu vaccine recommendation for patients 6 months and older
  • Communicate the facts of flu vaccination: reduced risk of illness, enhanced protection for those at high-risk of complications, 50+ years of research supporting flu vaccine safety.
  • If vaccine is not available at your clinic - make a flu vaccine referral.

NY Measles Outbreak
New York declared an end to worst measles outbreak in 30 years with 312 cases. 73 percent of those infected were unvaccinated.
CA Medical Exemption Law
California passed SB 276 restricting access to suspect medical exemptions from childhood immunizations. The state removed philosophical and religious exemptions from all immunizations in 2015.

Immunization
Certificate of Exemption Form
The Department of Health has updated the Certificate of Exemption (COE) to reflect the new requirements. It is currently available here in multiple languages. The certificate will be available in other languages sometime in June.
