Pink Sunday

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, an annual campaign to increase awareness of this disease.

This Sunday, Philoptochos will be hosting coffee hour, following Divine Liturgy. We know we must keep hope alive and our annual support will provide women with much needed resources and a supportive hand as they walk through the cancer care system.

Let's all go PINK!!! We encouraged all members to bring a coffee item and to wear pink to honor and remember those affected by breast cancer.

A table will be provided to collect donations for Komen Denver or donations may be made online below:
General Meeting

All members are welcome. Refreshments will be provided.

NOTE: Philoptochos' next General Meeting will be held on Sunday, November 10th in the Multipurpose Room - lower level of the church.

The Philoptochos Seniors group welcomes a very special speaker, Maro Casparian with the Denver District Attorney's Office.

She will be speaking and answering your questions on Fraud and Scams and is open to discussing other related topics. There is no charge for this informative afternoon and it is open to all those interested. Tell your friends. Refreshments will be served.

Character Day at McMeen Elementary
Halloween Day, Thursday, October 31, 2019
Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm 
Location: McMeen Elem 1000 South Holly St. 

Philoptochos has been asked to assist with photographing students on Character Day at McMeen Elementary (our adopted school this year). What a fun project for all you amateur photographers.

Volunteers would be helping with posing classes, helping to get smiles, and identifying classes by teacher and grade level, in the order they are photographed.  Cameras are welcome!

September Project Highlights:
  • Philoptochos collected over 600 Undies and Socks for Clothes to Kids at the Fall Open House.
  • Volunteers prepared a warm meal for 300 hungry families and individuals. Our next meal prep will be in November 27. Please call Janice Thomas at 303-888-5342 or [email protected], if you have interest is helping.
  • Nearly 40 Seniors enjoyed a lunch and Bingo. Special thanks goes to Christine Smith who called Bingo in Greek and English!!!
