Clemson Extension Stakeholder Survey

In an effort to determine our strengths and weaknesses in meeting the Extension mission and improve upon future services, we are asking Stakeholders to complete a survey. It is important that we receive as many survey responses as possible to ensure representation across the state. The survey should take 15 minutes or less for participants to complete. Volunteers Needed! Beach Sweep River Sweep

Join thousands of fellow South Carolinians in the largest one-day volunteer cleanup event of it's kind! Beach Sweep/River Sweep occurs from 9am to noon on the 3rd Saturday in September every year since 1998. This effort is organized by S. C. Sea Grant Consortium and S.C. Department of Natural Resources to clear beaches, rivers, lakes, marshes and swamps of litter. To find a site near year and see results from past efforts visit SC SeaGrant or SCDNR .

Master Pond Manager
Fall 2018 Course Offering
Registration Closes August 22

Registration closes on
August 22nd for the next offering of the
Master Pond Manager course. This Clemson Extension program focuses on management strategies for stormwater and recreational ponds through an online classroom and hands-on field training. Participants can complete the full Master Pond Manager recognition training, or complete a Letter of Completion in Recreational or Stormwater Pond Management. Participants in the full Master Pond Manager course will receive three Category 5 pesticide CEC hours.
Class begins August 29th! Course content includes:
- Recreational Pond Design and Construction
- Stormwater Pond Design, Inspection and Maintenance
- Limnology and Water Quality
- Integrated Aquatic Plant Management
- Best Management Practices for Stormwater Ponds
- Fish Management

Master Rain Gardener
Fall 2018 Course Offering

Registration is now open for the fall offering of Clemson Extension's
Master Rain Gardener program. This course is focused on rain garden and rainwater harvesting system design and installation geared towards both professional and residential audiences. The offering includes online and in-the-field components with the option of becoming a certified Master Rain Gardener. The fall 2018 field day will occur at the MUSC Urban Farm.

South Carolina Water Resources Conference
October 17-18, 2018

The South Carolina Water Resources Conference (SCWRC) provides an integrated forum for discussion of water policies, research projects and water management in order to prepare for and meet the growing challenge of providing water resources to sustain and grow South Carolina's economy, while preserving our natural resources.
The SCWRC is a biannual conference that will occur this fall, October 17-18 at the Columbia Metropolitan Conference Center in Columbia, SC. To learn more and to register click HERE |
South Carolina Native Plant Week
October 13-20, 2018

Sparked by legislation drafted by Audubon South Carolina, the resolution for South Carolina Native Plant Week was signed into law by Governor Henry McMaster in April 2018. This resolution recognizes the importance of native plants and permanently establishes the third week in October as Native Plant Week in South Carolina! In celebration of native plants; lectures, workshops, nature walks, plant sales and more will take place across South Carolina between October 13-20th, 2018. And mark your calendars! The SC Native Plant Society lowcountry native plant sale will take place on October 20th at Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site.

The ACSEC is a regional partnership between counties, municipalities, universities, state and local agencies, non-profits and other organizations in the Tri-County region.
The ACSEC mission: Improve water quality within the Ashley and Cooper River basins by providing educational opportunities on stormwater impacts and our community roles in supporting healthy, fishable, and swimmable waterways.
