Here is your personal update to the happenings at C.S. Lewis Institute Annapoils!

Dear Fellows, friends and supporters of CSLI Annapolis,

Our 2019-20 year is well underway and here is a brief overview of the happenings in Annapolis.

Thirteen dear hearts are growing deeper in their relationships with Jesus through the second year of our Fellows Program.  We had a wonderful retreat in September at Sandy Cove, with Stuart McAlpine giving us a fresh perspective on time and how God works through it in us while remaining outside of it.  Our first monthly meeting is coming up this weekend and we are very excited to see how God continues to move through these dedicated Fellows.

Our SJC Fellowships are also off to a great start for the academic year, under the steady hand of Jonathan Barone.  Here is a quick update:

"The Christian Fellowship at St. John's has gotten off to a strong start for the year! The weekly meetings for both the Men's Fellowships and the Women's Fellowships have gotten underway, and attendance has be solid and consistent for both of them.

Being a Christian at St. John's carries its own unique struggles throughout the four years. Even though many of the classic works of Western thought come with heavy influence from the Bible, most of the discussions had in the classroom come from a very intellectual background, with very little focus on faith or personal belief. As such, our weekly meetings serve a real need to provide a place to come together as a community of brothers and sisters. Sometimes that manifests in talking about what goes on in the lives of the students, and sometimes it centers in a discussion of a theological matter. But whatever takes the focus of the meetings, the purpose is to provide a space of fellowship centered around Christ.

We look forward to continued meetings into October and the continued growth and support of our Christian Fellowship!           -Jonathan Barone"

The USNA College Associates are also in full swing, after their retreat weekend just a few weeks ago.  We are so blessed to have great leaders, mentors, and midshipmen seeking Jesus!

Our pastors gathered in early September to discuss Jesus' call to "come away with Me."  This wonderful group gathers quarterly to fellowship and pray with one another, building each other up for their tireless service to sons and daughters of God in the area.  We are planning our next luncheon for December 4th and more information will be forthcoming.

Last but certainly not least is an update from our City Director and his wife, Jim and Ann Phillips.  They have arrived safely in Oxford, England, where Jim will begin his studies in the Department of Theology and Religion (Wycliffe Hall) shortly.  We pray for their peace and joy in this new adventure!

We have been given "favor" by Jesus in this land, the greater Annapolis community.  God says through Isaiah, " But this is the one to whom I will look:   he who is humble and contrite in spirit  and trembles at my word." (Isaiah 66:2)    We are grateful for the opportunity to serve Him here and for all of you who support this work in the ways God has blessed and gifted you.
