Mr. Waldman brings over 42 years of DoD Navy and Air Force Program Management experience to SIL from his technical involvement with Cruise Missile, Space Shuttle, Titan IV, Minuteman, Peacekeeper and Eastern/Western Range Data Acquisition and Processing Systems. Having successfully authored and prosecuted numerous Patents, Mr. Waldman’s insight and understanding of what’s necessary to bring a product to the commercial/military market is continually demonstrated via the fielding of these and other key technologies at SIL.

Leading SIL projects include the Vehicle Based Independent Tracking System (VBITS) Patent # 5739787, Military Grade Small Satellites, Space Rated Battery/Power Systems, Vehicle Based Independent Range System (VBIRS), Patent Publication # US20170328678A1, granted as Patent #10,302,398 on 28 May 2019. All systems support Missile, Rocket, Hypersonic, Satellite, Aircraft and UAV operations.

Recent work with the NevadansCAN and NDIA has enabled Mr. Waldman to become a team-member with the Small Modular Nuclear Reactor/Microgrid development for Nevada test & implementation: https://ndia-snv.org/reactors-%2F-microgrids B.S. Darren DuPar is CEO-Owner of Twin Eng and Mfg, Inc., a small aerospace company that engineers and manufactures electrical wiring harnesses and electro-mechanical devices for military and commercial aircrafts and is a sub-contractor to prime government military contractors. Mr. DuPar has over 30 years in the aerospace industry as an Avionics and Electrical Technician and has held various positions in management, systems test, and as an Electrical Systems Manufacturing Engineer. He launched his career in aerospace at Martin Marietta Aerospace as an Electronics Technician on the Space Shuttle Program and later used his expertise as a Research & Development Technician at Northrop Grumman on the B-2 Bomber initial development stage.

He continued his career at Northrop Grumman as an Avionics Technician for the past 16 years where he was responsible for all electrical and avionics systems validations for flight performance. During his tenure at Northrop Grumman he worked on various unmanned and stealth projects and performed engineering changes and modifications on the F/A-18 Growler at domestic US Naval Bases. He also had the opportunity to be part of a team that was responsible for the Global Hawk and Fire Scout 2 groundbreaking unmanned military aircraft.

After 35 years, Darren combined his technical expertise, industry knowledge, and entrepreneurial aspirations to form Twin Eng and Mfg, Inc. He provides a unique perspective as an in-demand avionics expert highly valued throughout the lifecycle of manned and unmanned military and commercial aircraft.

Mr. DuPar received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He holds certificates in Electrical and Avionics systems. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his longtime companion, 4 children and 3 grandchildren, Bella his beloved dog, and traveling to visit family in New Orleans, LA.

Bill Kelly

Bill Kelly is a Senior Member of AIAA recently retired from the Aerojet Rocketdyne Corporation after 19 years of service plus 26 more years at other aerospace (Marquardt, Vacco Industries, etc.) and power industry (Babcock and Wilcox) companies . He was recently elected Treasurer of the Los Angeles-Las Vegas Section of AIAA. His experience at Babcock and Wilcox includes system design and start-up testing of large steam boilers and nuclear reactors (Three Mile Island, etc.). His experience at Marquardt includes small rocket engine and ramjet testing (NASP, etc.) and naval weapons systems development. His experience at Aerojet Rocketdyne includes large rocket engine system engineering, assembly and testing (RS-84, J-2X, RS-25, etc.) and system engineering for the MMRTG (Multi Mission Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator). He holds a BSME from New York University, a MSNE from the University of Virginia and a post-graduate certificate in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from UCLA.

Fred Lawler

Fred Lawler has 20+ years of experience at several Large & Small Companies (including TRW/Northrop & Boeing) on various Payload & Avionics Projects. He is currently a Senior Systems & Test EE at Raytheon--Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) in El Segundo, CA.  Fred is active in many STEM & Professional Society Outreach Events, plus coaching several Softball Teams! He holds a BSEE from Virginia Tech & a MSEE from GWU.

Moises Seraphin

Mr. Seraphin has been a Field Engineer at Stäubli Electrical Connectors since 2017, covering Southern California. He currently serves as the AIAA Los Angeles Section Young Professionals Chair. Mr. Seraphin is an active member of SAE and was honored to present at the 2019 AEISS on High Density Electrical Contacts for MEA (More Electric Aircraft). In recent years Mr Seraphin completed the Jack Franchetti Executive Presentation Course and Dale Carnegie Leadership Development. As a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc, Mr. Seraphin was distinguished for community service in both Northern California and Virginia. Prior to joining Stäubli he worked as an Applications Engineer at Altec Industries in Roanoke, VA and Sacramento, CA. While at Altec he won the 2016 National Engineering Symposium on Innovative Ideas to Revolutionize our Industry. Mr. Seraphin earned his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. He has also worked on projects from the Office of Naval Research, US Navy, and was honored as a distinguish Aerospace Engineering Alumni at Virginia Tech for his 2012 Ted Talk.

Dean Davis

In my 41 years in the aerospace industry, I have worked for almost every major aerospace company including Boeing, Martin Marietta, General Dynamics, Lockheed, Arianespace, Airbus, TRW, Honeywell, Hughes, Raytheon, Computer Science Corporation, Lockheed Martin, and now Northrop Grumman.

Over these years, I have worked on over 400: fixed-wing and rotary aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle, satellite, space exploration human habitat, space exploration robotic, missile, submarine, aircraft carrier, cruiser, destroyer, armored vehicle, directed energy weapon (DEW), renewable alternate energy, tracking/telemetry/commanding (TT&C), Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Cyber, Intelligence, Reconnaissance & Surveillance (C5ISR) systems.

Even though I am in incredible pain every day (due to surgical and medication complication for treating life-threatening asthma attacks and their consequences), I fight my way past the pain and “Seize the day (Carpus Deum)”. When I’m feeling like I can’t go on any further, I remember a speech I heard years ago from a quadriplegic titled “It’s not what happens to you…It’s what you do about it”. He was right, yes, I’ve gone through a lot of challenges, but I don’t let those issues define who I am. I choose to be defined on what I can do to contribute to my family, my country, my world, and my society, not my handicap.

I am a Virgo who loves aerospace engineering, operations research, systems engineering, astronomy, geology, physics and science fiction. I love amusement parks, aerospace museums, air shows, hot air balloons, and cruises.

I love playing “Mr. Science” to students young and old, so, I am also a science and engineering teacher. Because of this, I am the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA) Los Angeles/Las Vegas Section K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics (STEAM) Educational Enrichment Chairman.
