6-12th Grade Bullying Prevention Poster Contest
Each year in October, NUSD celebrates National Bullying Prevention Month.

To educate and raise awareness, we want to encourage students grades 6-12 to design a poster related to bullying prevention. To participate, pick up your poster board from the front office of your school. Submit your poster for a chance to win by Friday, October 25th. The top three winners from each school will be provided a lunch of their choice and cool prizes. District winners will be announced on November 1st.

Here is a list of contest guidelines to review before you get started. Good luck, and we look forward to seeing your creativity.
Parenting with Love and Logic
Let's face it - parenting is rewarding and tough. It's one of the few things in life that doesn't come with a how-to guide. There are, however, helpful tips that may be useful. More than 40 NUSD parents are taking a 5-week free course called Parenting with Love and Logic to better their skills and create strong, positive relationships with their children. The fall session is wrapping up, but the class will be offered again to parents in the spring. Childcare and dinner are provided at no additional cost. Board of Trustees Unanimously Approves Agreement with Teachers Association
The Natomas Unified School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the ratification of the 2-year tentative agreement between the Natomas Unified School District (NUSD) and Natomas Teachers Association (NTA) for 2019-20 through 2020-21 school years. To view the entire story , click here.
NUSD partners with City of Sacramento for free SacRT transit to students
NUSD is supporting a city-wide initiative with the City of Sacramento to provide free transportation on SacRT for all students attending schools in Sacramento. The one-year initiative, beginning October 1, will provide more options for students who may need transportation to school, internships, jobs, and enrichment and extracurricular activities.

For Natomas Unified families with students in grades K-5, parental consent is required for participation. Parents must contact their child's school to complete a permission form before they can participate in the program.

For families with students in grades 6-12, stickers will automatically be placed on the back of student ID cards. If parents do not wish for their child to participate, they can opt-out by simply removing and discarding the sticker. Students will not receive a replacement.

This free program is no cost to the district. It's a partnership with the City of Sacramento.

Share your photos for our Farm to School photo contest!
October is National Farm to School Month! To celebrate students building healthy eating habits, we want to see how YOU are eating healthy. Students are encouraged to get involved by participating in our #NUSDfarmtoschool social media contest.

Here's how it works:
  • Students: simply post the healthy meal or food item that you are about to eat on Facebook or Instagram.
  • Use campaign hashtag #NUSDFarmtoSchool along with your school name in your post
  • We will feature some of the healthy posts on our District Facebook and Instagram
  • The contest will end at Noon on Monday, October 14th.
How do I win?

The school with the most students to post a photo will win the contest and receive lunch provided by NUSD's food truck. The winner will be announced at Noon on Tuesday, October 15th.

We look forward to seeing what our students are biting into this month. Let the contest begin!
