You're Invited to Playa del Carmen!

On behalf of MBI's Convention & Travel Committee, we would like to invite you to attend the Master Builders of Iowa "Out-of-Country Excursion" to Playa del Carmen, Mexico following next year's Annual Winter Conference! The trip is scheduled for March 1 - 6, 2018 at the luxurious adults-only Paradisus Playa del Carmen - La Perla , an all-inclusive beach resort and all MBI guests will be receiving the Royal Service !

Every three years, the Association plans an extension of the Annual Winter Conference to an out-of-country location. The 5-night, 6-day conference trip combines business with pleasure, and has long been one of the Association's most popular activities. Nearly 100 people went on the last trip to Punta Cana in 2015 and had a great time soaking up the sun and spending time with other construction professionals in a relaxed environment.

We are excited to announce that MBI's executive coach of The Leadership Experience, David Rabiner , will be joining us on our trip to Playa del Carmen! He has put together a new program, Construction Leadership Mastermind Group, to present to attendees of the 2018 Out-of-Country Excursion.

MBI committees and task forces are a derivative of the Association's Strategic Plan and are responsible for generating the many services, new ideas and policies that reflect the needs of an ever-changing industry and our collective membership.

During the latter part of 2004, the Association undertook a strategic initiative to organize a "leadership pool" from which member volunteers could be identified and recruited for select task force and committee initiatives. To date, 310 volunteers are identified and registered to participate in the Leadership Pool. To view the list, click on the link below.

The volunteer effort is critical to the success of our Association and the betterment of our industry. Most committee and task forces meet three to four times per year for approximately 2 hours per meeting. Below is a link to view the listing of existing Committee and Task Force job descriptions.

We invite you to sign up to get involved in a MBI committee!  If you would like to be on one of our active committees or would like to sign up to be placed in the Leadership Pool and wait to be called upon at a later time when the need arises , please use the sign-up form linked below.

If there are any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Laurie Delmott (515) 657-4383 or [email protected].
If your answer is not 'YES!', then this upcoming training opportunity is not for you. But, if you are interested in finding out how to make more money in the years to come, read on.

A busy and busier construction business keeps you running fast and faster on an uphill treadmill going nowhere. Busy keeps your key people overworked without time to plan, prepare, think, bill correctly, or get change orders approved before you do the work. Busy forces you to make quick decisions without proper research or due diligence, like hiring the wrong person or saying yes to demanding customers. And busy doesn't make you more money!

You can build a top performing company and enjoy the benefits of a successful business by getting focused on priorities that really matter, will make you more money, and help you reach your goals. Attend George Hedley's class on April 18th to learn the techniques and systems top profitable contractors and subcontractors use and implement to get their businesses to work for them, make more money, and take their companies to the next level. This program includes a detailed workbook with lots of ready to implement examples and systems he developed to help his clients always make a big profit.
