Labor Day Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over
In 2017, 1,098 people were killed in vehicle crashes in Illinois – and one-third of those fatalities were caused by impaired driving. These statistics hold steady year after year, but people continue to make the potentially fatal choice to drink and drive. This Labor Day weekend, the Spring Grove Police Department will be out in full force to support the 2018 Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over safety campaign. Make the smart choice: Don’t drink and drive. Before you go to a party, know how you’ll get home. Designate a sober driver, take mass transit, call a cab or use your favorite ride-sharing service and don’t let others drive drunk. If you’re the designated driver, make sure everyone wears their seat belt. It's the best defense against impaired drivers. This campaign ends Sept. 4; however, the commitment to saving lives by getting impaired drivers off the streets never ends. Please join us in our efforts to keep Illinois roads safe. It’s a simple decision: Life or Death ?
