HYDE PARK, NY -- The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will present
"Freedom of Speech and the First Amendment," a conversation and book signing with
First Amendment scholar Ronald K. L. Collins coauthor of WE MUST NOT BE AFRAID TO BE FREE: STORIES OF FREE EXPRESSION IN AMERICA at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019. The program will be held in the Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Home.
This is a free public event but registration is required.
Ronald K. L. Collins is a retired law professor and co-director of the History Book Festival and book review editor for SCOTUSblog. He was the Harold S. Shefelman Scholar at the University of Washington Law School and a scholar at the Washington, D.C. office of the Newseum's First Amendment Center. His next book, influenced in part by the thought of Simone Weil and Albert Camus, is REASON IN RUINS: AMERICA'S DESTINY IN PERILOUS TIMES (Rowman & Littlefield, 2020). His books include THE DEATH OF DISCOURSE, ON DISSENT: ITS MEANING IN AMERICA and THE JUDGE: 26 MACHIAVELLIAN LESSONS.
