Hello Old Donation! What a great and full week it's been.
On Sunday night, Canon to the Bishop Diocesan, the Rev. Roy Hoffman, was retired from the Navy. Gretchen and Jeff Hood were there to take pictures (you can find them on Facebook) and wish him fair winds and following seas. Old Donation was a huge part of Roy's life during his service in the Navy, and he and daughter Ruby have now returned to be members of our parish, when he's not with other parishes on Diocesan visits.
We were also able to offer hospitality to Congregation Beth Chaverim on Sunday and Monday for their Rosh Hashanah service. It is always a joy when we're able to support the ministry of others, even (sometimes especially) those outside of our faith.
Tonight, we have Commission Meetings. Remember, there is no Holy Eucharist - that means our new schedule is 6:00pm dinner, 6:30 meetings begin. As always, all are welcome! If you aren't already a part of a commission, come and check some of them out.
Sunday we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis. I will be preaching, and at 10:30 we will have combined outdoor worship...with pets! It's that beautiful time when all the creatures, human and animal, can come to church and share in God's love. So, bring them all! And on Sunday evening following the 5:00 service we'll have our Newcomer's Dinner in the Parish Hall - Pizza, Wings, and Ice Cream. If you're new to the parish, you are invited! Just let us know you'll be coming.
That's all for now friends. See you soon!
