One Book -- One New Prague. Join your fellow neighbors in reading The Winter Bees by Jill Kalz. This collection of ten short stories about living, and working in a rural Minnesota town was a finalist for the 2019 Midwest Book Awards. Pick up your copy at the New Prague library.
On Sunday October 13th, Ms. Kalz will come to New Prague to visit and talk about her book. This
free event begins at 4:30pm with a social hour, followed by the author program beginning at 5:30pm. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.

Learn the three steps anyone can take to help prevent suicide. Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives.
This one-hour class is for members of the community over the age of 16 who want to learn best practices in suicide prevention. The class is presented by NAMI Minnesota (

Zen Tangle is a way to practice focus and meditation through drawing repetitive lines, marks, circles and shapes. Patterns (called "tangles") are chosen from vast collections and from imagination. Students will discuss and look at examples of Zen Tangle art and participate in various skill lessons and activities. Each student will leave with a Zen Tangle packet to take home for future work and meditation in addition to the work they created in class. Registration required.
