Boys’ Golf team closed out their season at regionals in Colorado Springs where Jose Blea led the way shooting 88. Cross Country is preparing for the Centennial League Championships after running at Douglas County last weekend. The team has made great strides and is looking forward to peaking at league and regionals. Softball is 15-3 and hoping to add 3 more to the win column this week. The girls are 8th in the RPI standings and will complete two suspended games this week. Delaney Farnsworth led the way on the mound last week as the Buffs went 2-0, including a 10-0 victory over Cherry Creek. Yasmine Ybarra and Cam Lyons have been hot at the plate. Boys’ Soccer find themselves at 5-3-1, and 20th in RPI, after a tough loss to unbeaten Rampart in Colorado Springs. They can be seen at Smoky Hill against Arapahoe at 4:30 on Thursday. Football The Buffs sit at 5-0 after consecutive road victories and are 5th in RPI. Obie Sanni averaging 132 yards per game and has rushed for 12 touchdowns. Chase Lyons and Max Zueger have led the defense which is allowing 10 points a game. The team is in action at Recht Field in Boulder Thursday night. Poms The Poms continue to improve and can be seen at the next home football game on October 11th. Field Hockey continues to play hard and battle. You can see them in action at Legacy Stadium on Wednesday and Saturday. Boys’ Tennis will close out the regular season this week and look forward to regionals. Mateo Cappellini has led the way at number singles this year, while the number 3 doubles team of Cameron Thomas and Caleb Urlacher have played well all year. Volleyball The Buffs have opened league play against tough competition, but played hard the entire match. You can see them at home on Wednesday night against Overland. Bianca Richerson and Maygen Daugherty have provided strong senior leadership. Cheers continue to support other programs as they move toward competition season. They are hoping to build on their 5th place finish at nationals last year, beginning with several local competitions.

Student Government and Sources of Strength Club are planning the first ever Sources of Strength Week from October 7 - 11. Sources of Strength is a best practice suicide prevention project designed to harness the power of peer social networks to change unhealthy norms and culture. The mission of Sources of Strength is to prevent suicide by increasing help seeking behaviors and promoting connections between peers and caring adults. This popular event is celebrating 36 years with 211 vendors showing hand-crafted items. The craft fair is a great place to purchase decorations, unique clothing, jewelry and gifts for the holidays. Funds raised are used to award scholarships to senior students who plan on becoming teachers, and to support clubs and activities. Food is available. Admission and parking are free.
