Young Adult

Quad City area libraries are holding their 25th annual Teen Reading Challenge. Teens from around the Illinois and Iowa Quad Cities are encouraged to read as much as they can from September 22 through October 19, 2019. Readers who reach 250 minutes will get a prize and an invitation to a party on October 25 at the Davenport Main Library. At 500, 750, and 1000 minutes they will be entered into drawings for even more great prizes.

Teen readers who are looking for some great reads for the Challenge can stop by the Teen Corner to check out our display on the Lincoln Award and Rebecca Caudill Award titles. These books are chosen by a panel of readers who narrow down nominations to a master reading list. Students then read from this list and vote for their favorite. The Rebecca Caudill Award is open to students in grades 4-8, and the Lincoln Award to students in grades 9-12. These titles make great reads for adults as well! Stop by the Teen Corner often for more featured displays.
