AEMS TRANSITIONS
AEMS is privileged to have wonderful volunteers that support the organization, many whom commit for the long term.

While personal and professional transitions are part of life, it is always sad to lose volunteers whom have been so committed to our organization.

We thank the volunteers listed below for their dedicated involvement and countless contributions that they have provided AEMS. We also wish them much success in their new ventures.

Congratulations Dr. Gail Bradley!
As you may have heard, our AEMS Chair, Gail Bradley, MD, has accepted a full time position as the Medical Director with the Arizona Department of Health Services, Bureau of Emergency Medical and Trauma Systems. Subsequently, she has resigned as Chair from AEMS.

Special thanks to Dr. Bradley for her dedicated leadership of AEMS over the past three years and her endless hours spent on updating the RED Book guidelines.

We look forward to supporting Dr. Bradley in her new role with the State. We know that Dr. Bradley will serve the the EMS community well and offer great guidance to the Regions.
NOTE: AEMS will be seeking a new Chair. Per the AEMS' bylaws, the nominees for this position must be currently seated on the Board. The nomination process will commence after the Board meeting on October 16 with the election to be held December 18.

AEMS is seeking nominations for several Board vacancies. ALL vacant positions are considered open and competitive for those whom may be eligible. For your information, the incumbents of two positions are seeking re-election.

  • Representative, Acting as a Prehospital Care Manager for their Hospital Employer, Representing a Trauma Center Hospital

  • Representative Recommended by a Statewide Ambulance Association, Representing a Private-Sector Employer of EMCTs.

  • *Physician Active in the Practice of Emergency Medicine and/or Prehospital Administrative Direction, Practicing at a Trauma Center Hospital.

  • *Representative of an EMCT Training Program / Ex-Officio

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Trauma Center refers to State of Arizona Designated Level 1 or Level 2 facility providing enhanced trauma care, and categorized as such.

  • Non-Trauma Center refers to a facility that is not a State of Arizona Designated Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center.

  • Administration means that the individual has programmatic responsibilities and budgetary authority.

  • If a position involves a recommendation by a professional association, we require a letter from the association acknowledging your nomination.

Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Training

Traffic Incident Management (TIM) consists of a planned and coordinated multi-disciplinary process to detect, respond to, and clear traffic incidents so that traffic flow may be restored as safely and quickly as possible. Effective TIM reduces the duration and impacts of traffic incidents and improves the safety of motorists, crash victims and emergency responders.

This year, during National Traffic Incident Awareness Week (November 10-16, 2019), the Arizona TIM Coalition is hosting a Mass TIM Training Event on November 13 .

This training will have one or more mock crashes with TIM zone setups, a line-up of first responder agency vehicles, and an Arizona media/press information to promote TIM training and National TIM Awareness Week.

AEMS is seeking an individual to assist with clerical support tasks including updating agency/hospital EMS contacts and EMS Odyssey planning coordination. This is a contracted (not paid employee) position where a W-9 will be required and a 1099 issued .
