Join the Social Work Club in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Oct. 19
The Social Work Wildcat Club and the K-State Research and Extension-Central Kansas District are hosting The Walk to End Alzheimer's on Saturday, October 19, on the Polytechnic Campus. Help lead the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by joining the K-State team, or start your own team. Read more about the inaugural Salina Walk and register here. UAS professional training course to be featured on 'Good Day Kansas' Sept. 30
"Good Day Kansas," a lifestyle show about the Sunflower State, was on campus recently to film a segment about one of the unmanned aircraft systems professional courses. Offered through the professional education and outreach office, the UAS Law Enforcement Training course, which assists state agencies with incorporating UAS, or drones, into their operations, will be featured on "Good Day Kansas" at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30. The program airs on KSN Channel 3 – tune in!

Commit to Caturdays: Football ticket specials, tailgating if K-State Polytechnic signs up 50 Wildcats
Aviation freshman Jake Kraus is organizing three trips to Manhattan to watch Wildcat football, open to all K-State Polytechnic students, faculty and staff. Athletics is offering the campus a ticket price reduction if 50 people commit to purchasing tickets for the TCU game on Oct. 19, the West Virginia game on Nov. 16, and the Iowa State game, aka Farmageddon, on Nov. 30. Tickets for TCU and WV would be $20 and $15 for ISU. Also, if there is enough interest, K-State Polytechnic will organize a tailgate for the WV and ISU games. SLC now offering line dancing class starting Oct. 6
Roxann Knox, a local line dance enthusiast, is offering a four-week dance class at the Student Life Center on campus in October. Participants will learn basic steps found in line dancing as well as popular line dances seen at weddings, clubs and other social events. Classes will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoons – Oct. 6, 13, 20, and 27.

The VFW "Sport Clips Help a Hero Scholarship" is offering a $5,000 scholarship for the spring semester. Must have separated with or currently hold a military rank of E-5 or below. Deadline: November 15, 2019. Apply online here.
Employee Tuition Assistance
Award amount is for tuition only in a K-State course for up to 3 credit hours per term. The maximum award amount will not exceed the value of 3 hours at the in-state Manhattan/Salina tuition rate (ie. campus fees, other institutional fees, etc. are the responsibility of the employee).

Dependent/Spouse Grants
Only regular employees are eligible. If you are unsure if you are regular or term, check your contract or with the HR office. This grant is available for fall 2019 and spring 2020, but not in the summer. Apply Here

For dependents or spouses that are enrolled full time in a degree terminating undergraduate program, the award will be the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 7 undergraduate course credits, where full-time for an undergraduate is defined as at least 12 enrolled credit hours per regular fall/spring term.

For spouses that are enrolled part time in a degree terminating undergraduate program the maximum award will be the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 3 undergraduate course credits, where part time for an undergraduate is defined as less than 12 enrolled credit hours per regular fall/spring term. (Enrollment of less than 3 credit hours, will result in the proration of the award i.e. 2 credit hours enrolled = the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 2 credit hours - or - 1 credit hour enrolled = the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 1 credit hour. )
Dependents that are enrolled less than full-time in an undergraduate program are not eligible for the K-State Dependent/Spouse Grant.

For dependents or spouses who are enrolled in a degree terminating graduate or veterinary medicine program the maximum award will be the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 3 course credit hours as indicated by the student's degree program, graduate or veterinary medicine. (Enrollment of less than 3 credit hours, will result in the proration of the award i.e. 2 credit hours enrolled = the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 2 credit hours - or - 1 credit hour enrolled = the equivalent of the regular, resident on-campus tuition rate for 1 credit hour.)
