American Red Cross Blood Drive
 
Thank you for your support of the Blood Drive.  Thanks to all who donated, all who tried, and all that assisted.  It was a great success and the American Red Cross coordinator complimented our amazing students and faculty!

GRADUATION SPEAKERS
  
Congratulations to our Graduation speakers for 2017!  Our Valedictorian is Natalie Kucowski and our  Salutatorian is Madelyn Riehman.

BASKETBALL
District Champions!

Congratulations to the Basketball Team who won the District 1 Championship by defeating New Hope High School 49-34! 

Round 1 of the State Basketball Playoffs will be  Saturday March 11 at 5:30pm.The game will be played at Cheltenham High School.   Saint Basil Academy will face Philadelphia Charter Academy.    Tickets are $6.00 at the door.  Come out and cheer on the team!!
THEOLOGY
A visit from Generation Life

On March 1st and 2nd, speakers from Generation Life visited our Theology classes to share their message of chastity, human dignity, and the pro-life cause.

COLLEGE SERVICES
Seniors
 
All students, especially SENIORS are encouraged to check out the Scholarship List available on their Naviance accounts.  If you are an underclassman, it is never too early to begin searching for scholarships and applying to those you are eligible for.  If you should win the scholarship all monies can be deferred until you are ready to attend college.   Additional free scholarship sites include Fastweb.com and Scholarships.com.
COLLEGE SERVICES
Juniors

All Junior parents received a Parent Brag Sheet via email.  Please complete the brag sheet and return it to your daughter's counselor as soon as possible.  Thank you.
AP TESTING
Payments

AP Testing money was due October 15th. If you have not yet paid for AP tests, we ask that you send in the monies as soon as possible. One can pay by check (payable to SBA) or pay online with debit/credit card.  Each test is $93.00. All students who are enrolled in an AP course are required to take the AP test in May as was outlined in the Program of Study.
 
SPRING SPORTS
PIAA Forms

Softball, Track and Lacrosse began on Monday, March 6th.  All players must have a   PIAA physical form  on file in the Athletics office before you begin.  A player who has not played in any sports in the fall or winter must submit a new physical for this year.
 
ANNUAL YOUTH SYMPOSIUM
Payment due by March 10th
 
Reminder:
Seniors received permission slips for the Annual Youth Symposium on the Holocaust last week. They will attend on March 21st at Gratz College. The cost is $9 per student. Permission slips and money are due to Mrs. Fina by today, March 10th. The permission slip and a link for the program are below.


 
COLLEGE INTERVIEW DAY
March 14th
 
College Interview Day is Tuesday, March 14th.  There will be about 35 colleges and universities visiting with our Juniors next Tuesday.  Each student will receive their list of scheduled one-on-one appointments on Monday in school. Each junior student is encouraged to come 'dressed to impress' and wear their SBA blazer on Tuesday.  The Counseling Department will be meeting with the juniors on Monday, to go over appointments and any last minute questions. This is always a great day at SBA!
SOCKS FOR THE HOMELESS
Ends March 17th
 
In the spirit of almsgiving, the Spiritual Life Team continues to collect "SOCKS FOR THE HOMELESS".  The drive will end on Friday, March 17.  New socks for men, women and children may be dropped off on the table outside of the Spiritual Life office.

WALK A MILE SOUP SUPPER
March 29th

This simple  soup  supper  to benefit Face to Face  Soup Kitchen in Germantown will take place on Wednesday, March 29th from 5:00 to 7:00 at SBA. All SBA students, faculty, and staff, and their families are invited to join us for soup, bread, and dessert. 
 
 
Admission is $5 (max of $20 per family).

SBA DRAMA
March 31 - April 2

FAME TAKES THE STAGE
In 5 weeks FAME will open on the SBA stage.  Each student is entitled to 2 FREE tickets to the performance of their choice. The show dates are March 31 & April 1 @ 7:00 and April 2 @ 2:00 along with the preview performance on Thursday, March 30th @ 6:00. All students received the student ticket request form in their first period classes and additional ones can be found on the bulletin board. Tickets will be available at the door for all dates except the preview.  Additional tickets can be purchased on the same form. Please get your ticket requests in early for the BEST seats.  DON'T YOU WANT TO LIVE FOREVER - FAME!!!!

SBA PROM
April 28th
 
To all Junior & Senior Parents:

The SBA Prom will be held on April 28th from 7-11 PM at the Philmont Country Club.
Your daughter received a copy of the prom policy in school.  In the event that you have not seen it, a copy is attached below.
Prom T-Shirts will be ordered this week.  A portion of the prom payment is for the t-shirts.  Please use the link below to make your daughter's prom payment, if you have not already done so.  Thank you to all who have completed payment.

SBA PARENTS' CLUB
Next Meeting

The Parents' Club general meeting will be Tuesday, March 14 at 7 PM.  Remember, if you attend two meetings and volunteer for two events you will be entered in a drawing for tuition raffle.

Mother-Daughter Brunch on Sunday, May 7 at Bridgeman's Hall.  Invitations will be sent in the mail by April.  More information to follow at a later date.
