PICTURE OF THE WEEK
ARTICLE OF THE WEEK
The Middle School year is off to a great start, with incredible learning taking place in all of our classes. One highlight is the 7th and 8th grade girls Jewish Studies Electives or Bechira classes. Students chose one of four options, based on their own areas of interest. This year we are offering two returning courses. Rabbi Menchel is, once again, teaching a Chumash Enrichment class, with a focus on parshanut , starting with the Creation of the World and the use of the term Ki Tov and moving on to the Creation of the Woman. Ms. Kletenik is teaching Gemara, where the girls are studying Masechet Sukkah, starting with learning the halachot about who is exempt from the mitzvah of sukkah. Additionally, we are offering two new courses. Morah Ariella Goldsmith is teaching a class in Women in Halacha, starting with womens' obligations in mitzvot, and Mrs. Chaya Wiederkehr is teaching a class studying the weekly Haftarot and their connection to our daily lives, starting with the meaning behind the haftarot that we read during the yamim noraim. The girls are excited to have these excellent learning opportunities. Wishing you and your family a  Shana Tova U’Metuka!

Chocolate Sale - Opt In to Sell
Our annual chocolate bar fundraiser is underway! This is an amazing - and delicious - way to help support our school. The procedure is new this year - you must opt in for each child who you wish to receive chocolate to sell.  Click here to opt in . Boxes will be distributed in the school office, only to those who opt in.

Each box contains 30 bars and each bar should be sold for $2. For each box of chocolate sold, please remit $60 to the PTA - only full, unopened boxes may be returned. Checks made out to YHT-PTA are the preferred method of payment. You may include payment for all boxes on one check.  The deadline to return money is November 30th.  Prize selections are on the flyer below.

Thank you to Esti Cohen , Shulamit Hurwitz , and Judy Sobel for the labeling and distribution of the boxes and to Paul and Shulamit Hurwitz for keeping track of payments and prizes.
