€92 million available for Horizon 2020 Transport projects Six Transport topics under the 2018-2020 Horizon 2020 Work Programme are now open for application. The projects will be selected for funding in two-stage evaluation. Candidates should submit short project proposals by 09 Jan 2020. If they have qualified to the second stage of the selection process, they will be invited to submit full project proposals by 08 Sept 2020. The final decision about which projects will receive EU funding will be known by April 2021. Read more

Amazon orders 100,000 electric trucks to fight climate change Amazon has ordered 100,000 electric trucks from startup Rivian, the e-commerce giant recently announced. The order is part of Amazon's larger pledge to reach zero net carbon emissions by 2040. Amazon aims to use 80% renewable energy by 2024 and 100% by 2030. The Website of the Month: Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) The CEER, the voice of Europe’s Energy Regulators, has developed a 3-year, “3D” regulatory policy strategy for the period 2019-2021. The 3 pillars of CEER’s “3D Strategy” are: - Digitalisation in the consumer interest (D1); - Decarbonisation at least cost (D2); - Dynamic regulation (D3). Regulators' primary concern is with the public interest. Hence, consumers are at the core of CEER’s 3D Strategy (and of the digitalisation focus therein). The dynamic regulation element of their strategy is about regulation adapting to market developments and anticipating future requirements. Read more
