Designer Interview: Jay Woods
Jay Woods is a graduate of the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Purchase College and a Lighting Designer in the Greater New York area. After gaining experience in varied aspects of the lighting industry, from architecture to dance to education to houses of worship and more, Jay's design approach is fluid and colorful, whether he's working on outdoor installations, television, or theatrical projects. As owner of
Jay Woods Design, he balances design with cost for the greatest production value.

|
"There are a lot of tools in the designer's toolkit, and color is my first. I can look at a final project photo and know if it's mine based on the color."

QolorFLEX® LED Tape In Kegnado At Lakefront Brewery In Milwaukee, WI
Designed as an outdoor art installation, the lighting team from
ACME Corp. Production Resources was looking to illuminate 71 stainless steel barrels that would be mounted to the facade of
Lakefront Brewery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They sought an LED tape that could create a substantial enough glow that it would be seen from all around the river. Watch the
Fox6 News unveiling video to see QolorFLEX effects in action.
|
|
"We chose QolorFLEX because we knew it would give us the look and flexibility we were going for, and also because we've used it for other installations without having to replace it for years."

Multiverse® Wireless DMX/RDM At The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze
Presented by Historic Hudson Valley,
The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze is an annual event in Croton, New York that features over 6,000 hand carved pumpkins across 12+ acres. One of the project's lighting challenges was finding a wireless DMX system that could broadcast to receivers that are in constant motion and require multiple universes of information. Find out why they chose Multiverse Transmitter and Multiverse SHoW Baby.
|
|
"Multiverse Transmitter helped us broadcast multiple universes from one device, which meant fewer power supplies, a more compact package, and lower wireless DMX costs."
