Dear FJG Family,
Each year TFJG proudly participates in fundraising to support the
JT Walk & Beach Party
to fund
critical research and studies to help find a cure for ALS, a disease that impacts families across Hampton Roads and the world.
Please join us this year for the 12th Annual event on Sunday, October 6th at the Virginia Beach oceanfront.
It will be an exciting day with family-friendly activities, including a family fun zone and King Neptune's treasure hunt, all culminating with a great beach concert featuring Buckshot and Rodney Atkins.
Thank you to those who have supported the walk in the past and continue to support this year. I look forward to seeing our team together this coming Sunday morning. If you have not signed up yet, please JOIN THE TEAM today!
Sincerely,

United Way Day of Caring
TFJG team members participated in the United Way of South Hampton Roads Day of Caring on September 13th!
The Day of caring supports local non-profit and public service agencies in the Hampton Roads community by connecting teams of volunteers to various improvement projects throughout the area. We had teams all over the area volunteering and helping to give back to our community along side other businesses in Hampton Roads. It was a great day for giving back!

Internal Company Mascot Contest
TFJG held a contest among our team members to choose a mascot to be used internally at the company. They were asked to think about our company core values and what they stand for when making their selection. Submissions poured in, but two of the submissions stood out and aligned perfectly with what TFJG is all about - the Honeybee.
Amber Friedman, Community Manager at Arbor Lake &
Hannah Childrey, Assistant Community Manager at Spring Water were the WINNERS! A compilation of their submissions is below! A
shout out to
Lauren Williams, Leasing Consultant at Baker Crossing who took took it upon herself to use her talents to bring the bee to life!
~ Honeybees build permanent homes and not just homes but they
build communities. They are 150% committed to each other, their leader, and their home. Their teamwork is legendary, and they always work like nobody is watching. It has also been said that with domesticated bees and beehives that when one hive is in danger or damaged they all work together to rebuild. Bumblebees help pollinate and allow new things to grow and flourish and are very beneficial to the environment. Bumblebees wings are smaller than their bodies so they should not be able to fly but they defy the odds every day, just like we do as a management company. We are continuing to grow, change, and adapt as a company and we will always defy the odds of being the BEST management company on the East Coast not only as a place to call home for our residents but as an amazing place to stand behind and work for! It's easy to come to work every day when you love your job! TFJG is the best in the BIZZness! ~

Be the Solution Winners
Congratulations to the following team members for taking extraordinary measures to
Be the Solution at their communities:
Stanika Rowson & Neily Maldonado, Accountants at Corporate
Both Stanika and Neily were nominated by Accounting Manager, Tymesha Hargis. Tymesha wrote, "Both have shown the core value of teamwork, Make something Happen! With bringing on board new team members in the accounting department, they both have stepped up to help the new team members. They have spent time with them sharing their knowledge and also answering question to help us meet goals as a team. It also shows their commitment to TFJG not just to get their work done but to achieve the bigger picture of meeting goals as a department. Thank you both ladies for all your hard work."
Renee Doyle, Community Manager
at The Crossings at Summerland & Summerland Heights
Renee was nominated by Leasing Consultant, Elizabeth Giraldo and VP of Property Operations, Matt McBroom!
Elizabeth said, "Renee is the best manager you can have. She has the perfect mix of a professional attitude and respect when dealing with residents and employees and always manages to be fair, no matter the situation. She is the only manager I know that can work efficiently at the same time at 2 different properties. Definitely, we have to recognize the hard work she does for The Franklin Johnston Group and I cannot find the words to show my gratitude to her." M
att McBroom said "Renee is an excellent leader
to her two teams in Northern VA. She has always done more than asked and was instrumental in assisting me with the sale of one of her communities. I truly believe a part of us retaining management after the sale was due to her leadership and attention to detail on how to run an asset. She is beyond deserving of this award!"
Desiree White, Community Manager at Meadowood
Desiree was nominated this week by our COO, Taylor Franklin, for making something happen!
Due to Desiree's hard work and leadership, Meadowood finished out the last several months with $0 delinquency! Accomplishing this goal is not without dedication and persistence, and we could not be more proud of you!
Kendall Shepard, Maintenance Supervisor at University Square
Kendall was nominated by Portfolio Manager, Diana Cruz. Diana wrote: "Shortly after Kendall came on board, we were notified of a state inspection. He jumped right in and showed true dedication to ensuring that University did well on the inspection. Following the lead of Tommy and his team who came to assist, Kendall fell right into place as if he had been part of the TFJG team for years (University scored a 95 by the way). Since becoming a TFJG team member this past June, Kendall continues to shine with his initiative and dedication to the success of University Square. Not to mention that he also now assists with other communities in NC who are preparing for state inspections. Kendall has taken it upon himself to tackle projects, without even being asked, that would have been contracted out in the past and has saved the ownership close to $5,000. From removing dead shrubbery to repairing water lines running from the back of the building. Though these items may seem minute to some, for University Square and the sister communities in Charlotte, Kendall has certainly 'Been the Solution'!!!! Thank you Kendall for all you do and your dedication to the success of your community."
