HCPF Publishes New Information on Colorado's Medicaid Expansion

This month the Department published a new overview of Medicaid expansion in Colorado.  The fact sheet highlights demographic information about the state's expansion population (including a county-by-county breakdown), as well as details on the economic impact of Medicaid expansion.
COMMIT Update

Since the transition to our new claims payment system, the Colorado interChange, we have processed more than two million claims and paid providers more than $280 million.

The Department is fully aware that this transition has been challenging for some providers and we are working with our vendor, Hewlett Packard Enterprises, to address any issues.

Like with any transition between vendors, we anticipated there would be some unexpected challenges and have developed FAQs, recorded webinars, and are working with our vendors to decrease their call center wait times.

Please continue to send us any concerns you hear from providers so we can work with them to resolve any issues.
American Health Care Act

The Department has been closely following the introduction of the American Health Care Act, federal legislation to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.  Several organizations have released informative analyses of the bill, including The National Academy for State Health Policy and Health Affairs , which has a summary specific to the Medicaid provisions of the federal legislation.
HCPF Submits New Report to the Joint Budget Committee

The Department of Health Care Policy & Financing worked with the Department of Public Health & Environment to submit a multi-department legislative request for information to the JBC earlier this month on site surveys.  Specifically, the report includes information on the number and type of site surveys conducted since July 2016 and the time required to conduct each survey.
Accountable Care Collaborative Phase II Update

The next Phase of the Accountable Care Collaborative seeks to leverage the proven successes of Health First Colorado's (Colorado Medicaid's program) programs to enhance the member and provider experience. The goals of the Accountable Care Collaborative Phase II are to improve health and life outcomes of members while using state resources wisely.

The Department sought targeted public comments between November 4, 2016 and January 13, 2017 on the draft request for proposals (RFP) . The Department is working to review all comments received and is making updates to the RFP that align with our agency authority, state and federal rules, and the goals of Accountable Care Collaborative Phase II.  The Department plans to release the final RFP in Spring 2017.
