Liturgy Training Publications
New Order of Baptism of Children, second edition

Originally prepared by the International Commission on English in the Liturgy, the updated translation was done in accord with the principles of Liturgiam authenticam but does not change the Baptismal ritual itself.

The new English translation of The Order of Baptism of Children was recently approved by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and confirmed by the Apostolic See for use in the dioceses of the United States of America beginning on the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord (February 2, 2020) and mandated for use on Easter Sunday (April 12, 2020).

This second edition of the order of baptism will guide your community's celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism for children and infants and is necessary for bishops, priests, and deacons who are the ordinary ministers of baptism.

Publishers that are printing this new ritual text include Liturgy Training Publications, USCCB Publications, Liturgical Press, Magnificat, and Catholic Book Publishing

Click on the publishers' website above to learn more about each ritual text being published and to preorder your copy today!

Liturgy Training Publications is publishing a bi-lingual edition of the ritual text (pictured above) as well as Catholic Book Publishing and Liturgical Press.

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is usually a Holy Day of Obligation, is NOT in 2019.

Since December 8, 2019 is the Second Sunday of Advent, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is transferred to Monday, December 9, 2019, but the obligation to attend Mass does not transfer.

Thus, Monday, December 9th is NOT a holy day of obligation.
