AIRS | EHM | City Steps is proud to be an organization that continues to work towards achieving equal justice and equal opportunity for the LGBTQ community.
Although our work began with the Don Miller Homes providing supportive housing for individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS in the beginning of the epidemic, our current work is broader now and includes supportive housing for formerly homeless youth. Our data shows that approximately 20% of our current young residents identify as LGBTQ and many of them express continued discrimination because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
During this commemorative month, we memorialize those members of our community who have been lost to HIV/AIDS and will continue to support and advocate for those who continue to be disenfranchised and oppressed because of their LGBTQ identity.
If you are in Maryland and want to get involved, visit the
Maryland Pride Center's
website to learn more about resources available throughout Baltimore and Central Maryland and get information about Pride Month activities occurring this month. You can also volunteer at AIRS | EHM | City Steps or make a financial donation to enhance our supportive housing efforts.
