Natasha Jones

A Greensville County native, Natasha Jones graduated from Greensville County High School.  She earned an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing through a consortium agreement between J. Sergeant Reynolds and Southside Virginia Community Colleges.

After completing her A.A.S., Natasha worked as an R.N. at Greensville Memorial Hospital for a year before taking a position at Southside Regional Medical Center in the ICU.  She became a CPR instructor and began to precept and mentor new employees.  After twelve years, she made the decision to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University through its distance learning program at SVCC. She went on to complete a Master of Science in Nursing from ODU.

She strongly recommends SVCC, pointing to its smaller class sizes and personalized attention from faculty. "SVCC provided a great foundation for my career. My instructors were dedicated to my success and guided me to put forth my best effort. They made me own my learning experience. No handouts...I worked hard, put in the study time and achieved my goals while working full-time."

Natasha loves nursing and, in addition to being a Nursing instructor for Community Health Systems, Southside Regional Medical Center Professional Schools in Colonial Heights, still practices as an R.N. in the home health setting on a part-time basis.  She plans to begin work on a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in the near future.
