NATIONAL SENIORS DAY IS COMING UP!

National Seniors Day is October 1. To celebrate the day, Edmonton Seniors Coordinating Council staff and Age Friendly Edmonton Leadership Table members will be sharing stories on  Facebook. Join the conversation and share a story about an important senior in your life. You can also thank your favourite senior by saying "thank you", taking a walk together, cooking a meal together or treating them to a day out.

The Outreach Support Worker will work closely with seniors to identify their service needs, liaise with other social service providers and support seniors in accessing the necessary services and resources to improve their quality of life.

This is a temporary full-time (40 hours/week) job opportunity. Qualifications for this role include a diploma in human services, social work or human ecology, 2-4 years' work experience and experience working with seniors and their families. UNDERSTANDING NEWCOMER EXPERIENCES OF INCLUSION
Centre for Race and Culture

Seniors who recently immigrated to Canada are invited to take part in this two-year community-based research project funded by the Government of Alberta. This project seeks to examine newcomers' experiences of settlement, integration and inclusion and how these experiences impact well-being.
